I like Washington they have a great coach, and are a easily still a top 10 team, but I'm not sure they would be able to hang close against Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Louisville, Clemson, or even Oklahoma with the way they are playing.

I'm in a fairly competitive ($$) pick-em league each week, and I have developed a line-predicting program I use to measure what I think a line should be, compared to what it is, to determine how I pick and how "confident" I am based on the size of the variance. Serves me fairly well. Just for fun, I plugged in those teams you listed and U-Dub and here is what I think each line would be if played on a neutral site this weekend:

Michigan (-7.5)

Louisville (-4.5)

Clemson (-3)

Oklahoma (+3.5)

I would lay the points with every team favored except Clemson, and I would definitely take the points on OU.

Boise - realizes they have to be undefeated to even get mentioned

W. Michigan - realizes they are not really in FCS but gets a top bowl (and gets smoked by a Power5 team if they have something to prove)

I can't get on the Washington train. I tried, watched them play twice. Maybe I should look closer. Just not buying Washington in the top 4. Probably me, since it's obvious I'm in the minority.

In my opinion, there is zero chance UL gets in over a 1-loss Washington team given what U-Dub has left on their schedule. Less than zero chance, actually.

I agree. Wazzou lost to an FCS school but they're inexplicably ranked thanks to running through the soft-as-butter PAC12. And they'll get another win against a ranked opponent in the PAC12 title game.

 

I'm even more convinced than I was three weeks ago that Clemson needs two losses, putting Louisville into the ACC Championship Game, in order for the Cards to make the playoff.

Heck, they barely beat Notre Dame. Had to come from behind to win and their defense outscored their offense that game. Outside of Army and NC State (in a hurricane) no offense has scored less vs. the Irish all season.
