Do we really believe that the committee would take two teams out of four that didn't even play for their conference title, much less win it? I'm not saying those wouldn't be best 4, but I could see them not having the stones for that.

When they are clearly 2 of the 4 best teams like Ohio State and Louisville clearly are ,I think it would take stones to not put them in there. College Football is an imperfect system, but if you don't have Ohio State and Louisville in there it would be a travesty. Just hand Alabama another National Championship. 1) Alabama 2) Clemson 3) Washington 4) Wisconsin. That is a HORRIBLE playoff.

We watched the BCS system for years upon years not do things the way it should. Before that we watched the Bowl Alliance do the same. Every year we see mind boggling decisions by the NCAA committee. I could easily see them resting on the idea that a team should have won their conference.

I don't think they have a shot either way, but should the committee take into consideration that one of Oklahoma State's 2 losses was due to the officiating crew not understanding the rules? They'd be 9-1 right now with games against TCU & Oklahoma still to come.

My point was missed/incorrect calls are a part of the game. Just like the other scenarios.

Very similar. OK St. lost due to something completely out of their control. Clemson beat NC State on something completely out of their control. Bottom line, as is pointed out in the posts following your claim, if you want to start handing out CFP invitations based on gymnastics-style scoring rather than actual results, you slide down a very slippery slope.
