November 10, 20169 yr Excited about a president that is not a life long politician. Sick of political correctness. I really thought it was funny watching the Clinton election night party that was all set up in the Javits Convention Center, a huge glass building. You know "Glass Ceiling":rolleyes:. I don't know how many that place holds , but it is massive. Earlier in the day the fireworks were canceled that would have been visible from inside the building. First sign that things were not looking good. Then, Hillary doesn't even come out and talk to the people that had worked so hard for her election. I'm not talking about the Huma types that are getting paid a pretty penny thanks to the American donors, I'm talking about the ones that took time away from their jobs and families for Her election and were paid nothing and were waiting there just to see her. Very sad that she could not even thank them. On the other hand , you have Trump in a typical hotel banquet room with a dozen American flags, his supporters , trusted staff, and family. The contrast of the Glass house and spending $$$$ to Trumps acceptance speach in a hotel with much lower cost was telling. Trump will be carefull with our money. Hillary was going to get as much out of the middle class as she could. All the while making sure she was making millions for herself and catering to her special interest.

While there may not have been "protests" there were still many disturbing incidents that happened throughout the United States after Obama won the presidential election.

All I have seen on the news tonight is the protest. Sorry, don't remember the stories in the articles being on national news continuously. Not saying they were not reported, just saying that I don't remember it being played over and over again for, well for me now, 2 hours. That is ending for me however, because after being up all night watching the election, this Trump train is heading to the station for a good nights sleep.:thumb:

Speaking of immaturity, telling someone to get out of a thread because they don't do as you want is incredibly childish and immature, but I guess it's expected from some...
November 10, 20169 yr I'll take a stab at this. Could be the Republican Party is changing. Could be they had tried it with the "establishment" candidates and had no luck in the last two elections. Could be that it is many things. All the talking heads on all of the programs from CNN, MSNBC, Fox, etc., both R's & D's, agree on one thing, the answer is multifaceted. They compare it to an onion, many layers, as to why Trump won. So I don't think the one answer you are looking for is out there. There is no one answer.
November 10, 20169 yr There were about 15 other candidates running under the Republican Party and after all said and done Trump was their choice. Considering the things that Clyde has pointed out that Republicans typically stand for, not one of those 15 aligned more closely to that? They pick the one who least aligns to that and now claim they had to vote for him because they didn't like Hillary. This is it in a nutshell. The candidate with the attributes laid out in post 1 was the R's choice from the get-go. Those attributes are what attracted the base. Clyde's question is valid. President-elect Trump is the face of the party.
