November 8, 20169 yr I'd like to ask just one question, and you don't need to answer in this thread........Have you EVER, at one time in your lives, looked at an attractive woman and commented, man I'd like to..........? Are not you then as guilty as the Donald in degrading women? I haven't
November 8, 20169 yr I'd like to ask just one question, and you don't need to answer in this thread........Have you EVER, at one time in your lives, looked at an attractive woman and commented, man I'd like to..........? Are not you then as guilty as the Donald in degrading women? Saying "man I'd like to sleep with her" is not at all the same as "you can do whatever you want to them when you're rich and famous."
November 8, 20169 yr @Bengal Maniac Hmmmmmmm I believe I said that the words and comments were unholy and immoral. ...and yet you still support him. Yes, you did say that they were unholy and immoral, yet you reference the Bible to apparently justify those actions and words. Again, that is not the Christianity I know and is why some evangelicals are hurting the Republican party IMO. This is not the type of person I can support to lead our country.
November 8, 20169 yr Saying "man I'd like to sleep with her" is not at all the same as "you can do whatever you want to them when you're rich and famous." True, but has it been proven that he is guilty of doing these things, or is it nothing but mere "locker room" talk?
November 8, 20169 yr True, but has it been proven that he is guilty of doing these things, or is it nothing but mere "locker room" talk? You are missing the point of the thread which is it's okay to say or do these things because ....... bible and david and yeah. Who cares if its proven if bible stuff says it's ok? And yes it has been proven, to my satisfaction. We each have to decide for ourselves whether it has been proven. I heard a confession, freely given when he was unaware it was being recorded. No coercion, just him being honest and bragging about being a sex offender because it made him feel powerful. The confession was enough proof for me. Beyond the confession, there are the dozen? of women who have come forward, both before the confession and after, and said he did this to them. So that's more proof. I also find his confession, and the allegations, to be very consistent with his apparent character. Proven? Yep.
November 8, 20169 yr True, but has it been proven that he is guilty of doing these things, or is it nothing but mere "locker room" talk? Bill Cosby was brought down without "proof". Many of the posters dismissing Trump's words were calling for Cosby head on a platter from the get-go...no one waited for proof then....why now?
November 8, 20169 yr Author ...and yet you still support him. Yes, you did say that they were unholy and immoral, yet you reference the Bible to apparently justify those actions and words. Again, that is not the Christianity I know and is why some evangelicals are hurting the Republican party IMO. This is not the type of person I can support to lead our country. Well I'm pretty sure I referenced a story about one of the heroes in the Bible committing a murder in order to cover up his sexual affair. Not sure how you could by any stretch of the imagination suggest that I was using it as ajustification for anything
November 8, 20169 yr Author You are missing the point of the thread which is it's okay to say or do these things because ....... bible and david and yeah. Who cares if its proven if bible stuff says it's ok? Yep. Friend do you just make this stuff up? Did anyone ever say that it was OK to do or say anything?
November 8, 20169 yr Hmmmmmmmm.............. I just reread my post and I didn't say that anywhere. In fact I believe I said that trump does not fear God nor man. So since he does not fear God why would we expect him to have a clean mouth. I believe you said "act and say things". He brags about what he's done, and can do...or more appropriately, how he can act in regards to women. And its not so bad. You even say we should expect it. Sorry, but I expect more. And "doing whatever you want" to women isn't ok. Neither is saying it's ok to do so. There is no justification. Interestingly, the story of David and Bathsheba is a pretty messy one. God punishes David pretty harshly. Or more accurately his wives, as he has them raped. And he slowly kills their infant son. Hopefully Trump didn't do the things he says he did/are ok to do......the Biblical punishment won't be pleasant. Edited November 8, 20169 yr by rjs4470
November 8, 20169 yr Friend do you just make this stuff up? Did anyone ever say that it was OK to do or say anything? Yes. You say in the title of the the thread that you aren't that bothered by the comments. "not that bothered" equals "OK" Especially when you then expressly and specifically justified his "dirty talk" by referencing a famous biblical sexual offender. You chose to make the thread, say as a Christian you aren't bothered by the dirty talk. Implicitly saying that your Christianity does not conflict with this dirty talk. Then you go on to expressly do what you just implicitly did, which is use the bible to justify the act/words and your "not being bothered by it." So yes, we all know what you said and what you meant. Don't crawfish. Now, if, as a Christian, and a clergy to boot, you are NOT bothered by Trump's comments, let me make this as clear as I can...You SHOULD be. You should be bothered as a clergy, as a Christian, as a man, and as a decent human being. If that book has got you to the point that you can't find a way to be bothered by his words/acts, then put the book away....it's hurting you.

Men in power tend to say and do bad things, especially men I'm power that do not fear God nor man. Heck, even the leader of Israel, who feared God, fell into this kind of mess. Also, I do not know what crawfish means.

I do not see that many people in the political world that are a whole lot better than trump.

Heck, even the leader of Israel, who feared God, fell into this kind of mess. Also, I do not know what crawfish means. And yet here you are, fearing God, and very very confused. Sexually assaulting women is bad. (at the risk of over-analyzing) Talking about women, in a way that objectifies them, is also bad. If you, as a leader of your church, do not stand up to the "bad things" that "men in power" do, then ..... Crawfish means to walk away from a statement. To me. Am I the only one?
