Warren East is a little scary .Greer is very good they will score it just depends if they can find a defence.Remember last year 4 seed Warren Central gaveHoptown a game last year .Then Hoptown lost to 3 seed FS.Just a thought.

Oh for sure, I definitely agree. If Franklin-Simpson and Hopkinsville were meeting in the second round this year, I'd pick Franklin-Simpson again. I was more saying that Hopkinsville is better prepared to take on the 4 seed this time, that an upset there would surprise me.

Also something to keep in mind for Warren East, they have never won a road playoff game. Not in any round. 10-2 at home, 0-11 on the road. And only the epic 07 & 08 tilts at Lone Oak were by margins less than 15 on the road.

Keep an eye on the Lincoln (4)/Whitley County (1) game. Lincoln County is 1-9, but they have lost five games by a TD or less. Two of those close losses came to district champions (East Jess 4A & Madison Southern 5A). They have two common opponents in South Laurel and North Laurel. Both beat North Laurel, and Lincoln lost to south by yet another TD or less game 42-35 & Whitley beat South 34-25.

 

It could go either way but I think Lincoln gets the win.

I did that same review (although only of 2015). No 4 seeds won last year, but, as you say, about 15 teams that won a first round game last year would be eliminated from playoff consideration by dropping the 3 and 4 seeds.....

Did you count super district 'upsets' in 2011-2014? Because that district was deliberately made to contain Louisville's best 6A teams.

That Ryle/HC game is going to be closer than people think IMO. Ryle did not put a running clock on HC the first time they played and I do not expect it to happen this time either. Its unlikely,, but I would not be surprised to see HC speed give Ryle some trouble,, and pull out an upset
