Is Lloyd better than Newport?

Lloyd and Newport had a go down to the wire football game last year. However, Lloyd hit with graduation and only have 6 seniors on the team. Very young with alot of heart and determination. This has always been a close game in the past however it has been awhile since Lloyd has played Dayton. Your question is Newport better than Lloyd? I think personal returning wise and on paper yes. Lloyd plays Newport at Lloyd October 27th and should be another good game. As far as Friday vs Dayton I still pick Lloyd in a close one. JD

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but Lloyd's defense didn't look too bad last week against Beechwood. Yes, it was 38-0 but Beechwood had a very short field to work withon 2 occassions and they ran an inteception back for a touchdown.

 

Lloyd seems to be small, but quick to the ball on defense.

On offense, they need to be careful of the turnover...

but if they don't turn the ball over more than 1 time, I'll take Lloyd by about 8-10 pts.

 

I think if either team gets careless with the ball, having more than one turnover, the game will go the other direction.

I am taking in the field conditions, down at hells' half acre into account. With the devil's official paint crew coming in on Thursday night, in full force it should be in perfect shape for the Greendevils to do some damage to the jugs! I'll take Dayton in a nail biter 28-24!

Watch out for the drain pipes : ) ..Davis Field was always a favorite place to play...its like Gilligan down at Bellevue...surrounded by woods...stands sit up on the hillside...this is one that Dayton takes in front of the home crowd.

 

I like Dayton in a tight game. 14-12. Go Devils... Win the ones you should and a couple that you shouldnt... in the past fans would see this one as one you shouldnt so go into this with that in mind and you will be victors.
