I dont think Boyd is very good defensively.

Russell bounces back big. These seniors will come home to PLAY!!!!! Russell BIG!!!!

Finally the Devils get to dance in the HANK! Should be a great crowd their first home game since the State Championship and JFL night always a huge crowd! Since we have moved back home from our 5 year hiatus. Russell is yet to lose in the maroon jersey's or at home. I believe this game will be close and if Russell is not ready to play the Lions could spoil the fun. I believe almost everyone predicted the Devils last night. I predict a good game and fat gate at the Hank!

 

Russell is moving JFL night until the week after due to ceremony for Coach McGlone in case anyone wanted to know.

I agree. Boyd seems to be a decent football team and have some weapons. It will be close for a while but Russell bounces back and Clark has another big game.

Russell should name the score in this one. Boyd Co. is down at its escape of Pike County Central tells me enough. My prediction:

After that loss to Ashland(both teams played their hearts out)I look for Russell to have a big game for COACH

If Russell is finished thinking they can’t be beaten and show up ready to play they’ll be fine. I’m confident that Coach Ivan and his assistants have a cure for that.

 

Russell has to be the favorite in this game. But, I agree that Boyd won’t just roll over and give it to you. They are fully capable of pulling the upset again.

 

I don’t think 2 losses would be helpful to Russell. I think they'll learn from the first one and be on track.

I see most everyone is picking Russell to win big. I see them winning the game but not by some of the margines I see predicted. I said earlier that this could get ugly. After I said that I remembered Ivan was still the head coach and a great one at that.

I don't think many people ever said Russell could not be beat. There are always a few. Hopefully none of the players felt that way.

 

This team lost alot of seniors that were the heart and soul of last years team. Especially on defense. This years team may be more talented than last year, but they have to learn how to play first, and that will come with experience. I believe this group will get better each week.

 

Saturday was their first real test and although they didn't play particularly well they did play hard. I agree with you that Coach McGlone and the staff will make the nescessary adjustments and you should see a much improved team this week now that they have been battle tested. Much like the Raceland game was for Ashland, I think the Ashland game was a wake up call for Russell.

 

There is a fine line between confident and cocky. I am confident that this team will rebound. If anybody was cocky about it, that should have been taken care of this past week.

Wow! It will be an emotinal night at the Hank! 1st home game since the Pizza Box! I was watching UK-UL last night and remembering how special it was for the community, and of course it was an awesome day to be part of the Blue Blazer family if you get my drift!:lol: :ylsuper: I think that postponing JFL night is great so that they can give the head Devil his due! Anybody should appreciate a coach who has given so much to the community! Coach McGlone thanks for the positive influence that you have on all these Devils!:ylsuper: Thanks for taking good care of kids and you should be commended not for the titles or wins, but for the character and influence that you have shown the kids!:thumb:

:thumb: Nice post. McGlone is a teacher. The coach title just comes with the job. He is all class and will be hard to replace when the time comes.

I don't know anything about Boyd county this year,but Russell should have little trouble with the lions.They rarely have to give them a second thought,Boyd never could do much with Russell.I guess I should go though,the last 2 times I went to watch Russell play was the last 2 times they lost.At least they'd have something going for them.
