How's this for a Russell fan's prediction:

Portsmouth West 24

Ashland 17

Here's Why...

* Ashland is coming off an emotional OT x 3 thriller win over the mighty AA

State Champion Devils. (Over confident)

* It's the first game outside the warm confines of glorious Putnam

Stadium. (There's no place like home)

* Portsmouth West remembers the drubbing from last year. (Revenge is

sweet)

* Matt Thomas (He forgets and leaves his superman cape at home)

Well I think you have some wishful thinking going on, but I think that Matt Thomas will eat his Wheaties again and have another big game for his ThomasCats! Satuday he ran as though he had went on a vacation this summer with Kasey Clark and they traded films and secrets of how to be a sucessful back ,and be the Man on The Field! Oh wait boys what did y'all do at Myrtle Beach this summer. Y'all must have trained like Rocky and Apollo! :D

Ashland is coming off two solid wins. But in order to win consistently they must knock off alot of the unforced errors.

I don't know much about this southern Ohio team, but by the way Ashland handled them last year I'm sure they will be ready for this game and the Cats must be able to keep up their emotion after 2 extra period games.

I do look for the Tomcats to keep their winning streak alive.

It's alot easier to recover from all of the turnovers at Putnam than it will be on the road. If Ashland can minimize the t.o.'s then Ashland should win. You turn it over 4 or 5 times at West, you'll come home with a .500 record.

I dont mean to get off topic but whats wrong with the way the Red Devil is blowing his fire on the scoreboard?;) (someone in a another thread posted it was being fixed):flame: If Ashland keeps improving this should be a good game.Anytime you cross the river you had better strap up and be ready.:thumb: Matt will be super man if his line keeps improving.

Ashland had better come ready to play. PW is another Smash Mouth football team. They will run a double tight I formation all game long. They have a terrific RB I am told. The offensive line is supposed to be big and physical. Sounds like it should be a great game.

Sounds like Tomcats will have thier hands full.I wonder if thats the same rb from last year he was very talented also.

Jerico51: I hope the Tomcats think they have their hands full every week – they play better football that way!! I hope they keep working hard and growing. I’m proud of the improvement in the play of our linemen. Keep up the good work.

No, Pendleton has graduated. Their new running back was their QB last season.

I am very proud to Graybeard, and agree 100%.The Tomcat lineman control the destiny of this football team with a strong running game.:thumb:

Seems like I remember him being pretty good. What do you know about him - and the new QB?

Amen – preach it brother !! :thumb:

That is correct. He was the QB last year. The QB this year was a WR last year. Better watch that Halfback pass.;) From all accounts PW is a very physical football team. Good luck.

Not much really. I was reading a Southern Ohio message board and a lot of people from Ohio are going with the Tomcats in this one. Here are some good directions -

Coming from Ashland take Rt 23 towards Portsmouth. Take the Carl Perkins bridge to God's greatest creation, "OHIO" and follow the signs to US 52 West towards Cincy, it will the second exit off the bridge to your right. Go around in a loop and you'll be on 52. Once on 52 just a few miles down the road "The Rock" sits on the left side of 52, can't miss it. Parking can be at the first turn (gravel parking lot) or the school's main entrance (paved parking lot). While your there don't forget to take's a looksy to your right and see RAVEN ROCK overlooking The Mighty Home of the Siders (trees are still covering pretty good right now though).

I'm assuming this isn't GIAT's words, and he simply copied and pasted it. Hearing GIAT say Ohio is God's Greatest Creation is like Star Jones saying no thanks to a second helping. Shocking and impossible.

Now that's funny right there!!!
