Congrats LCA.

This kind of score normally means neither team has a chance in the end.

Thoughts?

You better be able to stop teams in the playoffs. Usually defense prevails. We will leave it at that for now.

I get what you are saying...were the respective Defenses that bad or were the offenses just that good.

IMO one of these two will be in BG, no disrespect to NCC.

No disrespect taken. These teams have earned the favorites mantle, but I wouldn't overlook NCC as they are putting it together again. Of course they still have to get by Holy Cross and LLoyd so their path isn't easy either.

Region 1

Favorite - Mayfield

Top Contender - O'Boro Catholic

Darkhorse - Butler Co

Capable of upset - McLean Co/Murray/Ballard Mem.

Region 2

Favorite - CAL

Top Contender - Desales

Darkhorse - Glasgow

Capable of upset - Metcalfe Co

Region 3

Favorite - NCC

Top Contender - Holy Cross

Darkhorse - Lloyd Memorial

Capable of upset - W.Verona / Gallatin Co

Region 4

Favorite - LCA

Top Contender - Danville

Darkhorse - Leslie Co/Somerset

Capable of upset - Allen Central/Prestonsburg

2A has some very, very solid teams and several others capable of springing an upset at anytime. IMO, this class is the most competitive in all 4 regions..

LCA might just win it all this year!

Don't jump the gun. I'm sure Mayfield will have something to say about that.

I'd also like to add that LCA's success came from finding great ways to get to Dampier. They made some fantastic adjustments to get the MLB and OLB into the backfield and that really disrupted the Ads passing attack. If the Ads don't find a way to stop that if a future rematch happens (and slow down LCA's potent running attack), then LCA is heading to the state semis.

Wheatley is a hard back to tackle late in ball games. Somerset had them beat until about 6 minutes left in the ball game... he got stronger as they got worn down.

The playoff run won't be easy for anyone in district 7, all three are capable of beating each other in my opinion.

I still go back to two plays. Walkers drop then fumble by Harris. Until that point Danville owned LCA. After that it seemed like the Ads got away from running the ball. The biggest thing was LCA found a set that they could run out of and pounded it

See that "might" word? :thumb:

As I said earlier, I'll take Danville by 2 TDs or more if they meet again in the playoffs. And honestly, I think Danville wins Friday night if the officials didn't blow the call on the pass that was clearly completed.

From the PREDICTION thread

Well done, Thunder.

Wireman's response, surprisingly correct

(the emoji is labeled "notworthy", though I believe there might have been a hint of sarcasm at the time)

No doubt. He nailed this one :thumb:

LCA deserved the win for sure. They played a great game.

Anyone else see Danville poor tackling technique? thought it was a fluke last year kids hitting low leading with helmets. Same stuff this year. Dangerous stuff.
