If Elder was lucky to beat HHS and CovCath...

Featured Replies

As they say "Sometimes its better to be lucky then good" and in a year from now no one is going to care if they were LUCKY to win just that they won. With that said I believe Lov. St X will beat Elder just as they will beat HHS in the 2-3 touchdown range.

Since they don,t play each other it will be difficult for ST X to beat Elder. This is all speculating nonsense. Any KY team will rarely beat a big Ohio team, and never by 3 TDs.

 Oh OK I see this is another one of those hypothical threads that someone makes up when there are plenty of REAL games for all of us to discuss. Thanks for straighting me out on this one and I would agree that rarely does a Ky school beat an Ohio school but in recent years the LOUISVILLE schools have been a little more successful against some of Cincy schools..: So with that said I say ST X 27 HHS 10..cool:

Bottom line is the Big Cincy schools ( Elder, Colerain, St X) have to be on a down year for a HHS, CovCath to beat them and then it still very rare.

thats not puttin down HHS or CC just facts.

both games were good fun games to watch and leave it at that, all the If's ain't going to change the fact that a down (re-tooling) Elder team is better than a Top notch 3-A State Championship team ( CC or HHS will win State)

from Ky.

Nothing wrong with that, y'all gave it your best shot and came up a little short.

enjoy the time and get ready for next week, don't spend all week ready to fire your coaches and raggin on how lucky Elder is.

Highlands and CovCath shouldn't beat the big GCL teams very often, especially with less than half their enrollment and numbers in the program. Just competing with them is a badge of honor.

Trinity 44 Elder 20

Never say it won't happen when it did. However that was an amazing Trinity squad. Teams like that do not come along very often. On average it is extremely unlikely to occur.

Yep never say never. I should know that.

Comparative scores don't work...period.

What's your point? Malachicrunch stated that a Ky team would "never" defeat and Ohio team by three TDs. PepRock provided evidence to the contrary. How is this a comparative score?

Did I quote Malachicrunch?;)

I don't think stickymitts was referring to PepRock's post, but rather to the original thread.

Paranoid today, LSURock?

Not at all. I just figured since he neglected to make this point earlier after a number of posts, his latest salvo might be related to more recent posts. You may be correct.

I would never speculate that any team from Kentucky would throttle any GCL team. The fact is Elder may be "down" by Elder standards and still beat two pretty "up" NKY teams. X could maybe beat Elder, but lets look at recent history. In 2004 eventual state champ X's only loss was to a so-so Moeller team and by a wide margin. In 2003 a so-so Cincy St.X team defeated a Brohm led and eventual state champion Trinity team. I think we can all agree that its a different brand of football up there.

Well said brother.

I didn't know there was a time limit.

It was an all encompassing "comparative scores don't work"...not necessarily this post, his post or even this thread.
