looks like from what I read the report looks not as bad as expected.. No lack of institutional control no failure to monitor program. NCAA does not allege that RP knew about the violations. It does say he failed to monitored Andre McGee which is a level 1 violation. Look for Pitino to sit out a some games next season lose a scholarship or 2. All in all best case scenario for the cards today. Could have been a lot worse..

Nothing new at all in the NOA, which is great news.

Now the next big step, which is probably months away, will be the final penalties the NCAA decides to hand down.

I agree. It seems like this process should continue into the summer, which means we can probably at least go through this season without having to worry what's going to drop next.

In your opinion will that effect recruiting for next season, or will the staff just tell the kids there's nothing to worry about?

The recruiting hasn't been affected at all since this broke last year. I don't see how a possible suspension would affect it now.

Most kids probably know the investigation will take time and prior to now there had not been any NOA from the NCAA, just the self imposed post season ban by the University last season. Any recruit that signed their letter of intent prior to the NOA, would likely get a pass at a no questions asked transfer without having to sit out a season. Not sure if that would be the case now that the NCAA has released the allegations or not? Seriously, I don't know how that works, so that really is a question I have.

Why would a recruit change his mind after the NOA, after learning no more serious sanctions were coming?

How would he know that no more serious sanctions were coming? Has the NCAA said that, or handed down any punishment of their own yet?

By watching TV/Social Media today.

Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino has been charged with failing to monitor a staff member in his basketball program, but Louisville otherwise escaped potentially serious penalties stemming from an NCAA investigation into allegations made by a former escort.

The NCAA's notice of allegations, released Thursday, includes four Level I charges, with one to Pitino, two directed at former director of basketball operations Andre McGee and the fourth aimed at former assistant Brandon Williams.

The university was not charged with any violations, such as a lack of institutional control or failure to monitor, the two most egregious NCAA infractions.

Call me old fashioned, but I certainly wouldn't rely on tv or social media to make decisions that may effect my life lol.

JD, with all respect, have you been paying attention to the Donald-Hillary circus? :lol2:

Are the recruits that came to UofL or the players that took part in this going to be ruled ineligible? Should they be?
