Should Future Supreme Court nominations drive your vote/choice for this Election

Since many Americans are unhappy with our choices for President, should we consider future Supreme Court nominees in deciding who gets our vote?

If we favor a strict interpretation of the Constitution, we vote to the right. If we support a loose interpretation of the Constitution, we support a candidate to the left.

Part of my rationale:

The Industrial Revolution was a major event in American History. Can you name the Presidents during this time? But, do you recognize the names Carnegie & Rockefeller?

And almost all of us know the importance of Roe vs. Wade, Plessy vs. Ferguson, & Brown vs. Topeka Board of Education.

My point.... Who is President is not as important as who is on the Supreme Court and the decisions that are made.

Agree or disagree?

Is the Supreme Court make up in the future enough to justify voting for a candidate that you do not like?

YES!!

This is my biggest fear about the election. I don't like the way the morality of this country is going and it could get a lot worse if the wrong person gets elected.

Perhaps, but with two candidate choices who are both clearly morally bereft, how can a voter be sure either candidate will make a sound and reasonable nomination for SCOTUS?

I have a feeling that the Conservatives in Congress will wish they had just approved a SCOTUS nominee by Pres. Obama... I say that regardless of who wins this election.

I say it doesn't matter. Supreme Court justices don't live forever and in another 4-8 years the same rhetoric about how this is the most important election ever because of the Supreme Court will be rehashed again.

Plus, regardless of their political leanings it is silly to assume that they will vote strictly by their leanings. Didn't a conservative judge help make Obamacare a reality?

The irony of this. Didn't Obama try to throw them a bone and give them a "moderate" SCOTUS nominee?

You have to remember the senate confirms the nominations. Senate elections are more important than the presidential one.

Totally forgot about this. So a democratic Senate can roadblock the nominee from the POTUS. :lol2:

Most important election ever my hind end. :lol2:

If SCOTUS appointments determines how you want to vote, that's your prerogative. For me personally, I can't imagine there being a case heard by them in the next 4-8 years that will have any impact on my life whatsoever, so it doesn't matter to me.

Supreme court justices, maybe not. But keep in mind the President appoints 300-400 judges at the appeals and district level that are much more likely to affect one's daily life that some kind of landmark SCOTUS decision.

Lifetime appointments I believe. There are currently a few of them at the sunset of their career.

I wonder how Hillary is going to find all these crazy extreme left leaning judges she is going to appoint. I guess she will have to hit the college campuses.

I'm confused. In one hand we have Hillary Clinton and in the other we have Donald Trump. Arguably the two most morally flawed POTUS candidates of all time. There is no "if" the wrong person gets elected.
