The SCOTUS does have impact on our society, on a lot of social, environmental, and financial fronts. Their interpretations are just as critical usually as what they decide to hear.

 

So yes, the President's possible appointments play heavily into whom I will vote. We all have different criteria. I understand where some could care less about that.

It's a part of it. Personally, the things I look for first are whether someone can be an effective Head of State and a capable Commander in Chief. Everything else is politics and we can sort that out through the process.

I'm not sure how much that chance will be. Even Reagan appointed two that are far more middle of the road than Reagan backers wanted. (i.e. Kennedy and O'Conner)

That would be my ideal as well. Like you said: I have a good idea what we would get with Hillary. I have NO CLUE what a Trump appointment would look like.

Do you? Until Bernie came along in the primaries Hillary was right of Obama. In all reality she probably still is if she wins the election. I expect Garland type appointments.

This is probably my biggest issue. I dread seeing where this Country goes if we have a Leftist SC.

If as many people were worried about the SC as they say they are then NO WAY Trump would've gotten out of the primary.
