NCC defeated Ludlow yesterday 27-0. The Breds next game will be Thurs. against an undefeated Holy Cross team, on the hill at Newport Catholic. Good luck to both young teams.

That game could be a preview of the A/AA championship. I hope they move the game off the hill to the new turf at Newport. Is everone healthy, who has the edge in this game? Looks like HC hasn't been in a close game yet.

LN, I agree with your comments regarding the "Baby Birds" approach to their recent games. Hopefully they will understand good practices usually carry over into good game performances. Their drive late in the 4th Quarter was impressive under pressure.

Two years in a row that SK has come up with a stellar performance against the 'Birds. Things are lookin' up over there. As my old Frosh coach would say about the Baby Bird's: "Defense: BEND but DON'T BREAK!!" Maybe they need some of Coach Alig's "constructive criticism" !! (lol)

The injured player for the Pioneers was strong side linebacker and fullback Nick Brown. He popped his shoulder out of place, but it seems that he will be okay and possibly even play next week. Brown getting hurt really hurt the Pioneers on defense, especially with the fact that their backup linebacker broke his arm last week at practice. They simply ran out of people and had to move people around to different positions towards the end. But don't worry, if Highlands beats Dixie and SK beats Conner, we will see these two again in the championship.

I think the HC and NCC folks may have something to say about that!:ylsuper:

It very well might be SK and Highlands for the title in frosh, reason being that the best team out of each division play each other in the championship. The divisions are set by the same standards as the East/West all-star guidelines, so you have:

 

West: Conner, Boone, Ryle, SK, and Scott

 

East: Dixie, HHS, CCH, Campbell, and Holmes

 

Thus, a team can lose to everyone on the other side and and have a 4-5 record, and still play in the championship the last week. So, the way it is looking as of now, the Ryle / SK game could determine who could play HHS in the finals...unless Dixie or Campbell takes care of buisness!
