Lacey has been great but the kid that catches your eye is Jack Wiley for a kid that hasn't played since Jr high he has great instints and he is a hitter.But Lacey is just a freak of a big athlete also you can't go by stats at SW Smith is very stingy on who he give tackles.Stats show half as many tackles as Defensive plays.

Agree, and I would also interject that Trevon Faulkner is well on his way to being a standout in Mercer's backfield!

All you have to do is look at stats.Smith makes you earn everything nothing is free or given.Alot of schools inflate stats to make you look better than you are i have seen kids get credit for alot of assist and only get a hand on someone.Basically all I am saying when it comes to defensive stats alot of times it is comparing Apple's to oranges .

I agree, there is stats on Max preps right now where the team has 89 solos but the other team only ran 74 total plays and 25 of them were incomplete passes.

Franklin-Simpson JR DL Dion Pearson. Been double-teamed most of the year and still is almost unblockable. Only O-lineman with any success against him was SW's Jacob Lacey. He played RG in the SW-FS game and it was Pearson's most quiet performance of the season. Much was made about SW QB Litten's injury giving FS a chance to get back in the game, but when Lacey started having trouble with cramps in the 4th quarter and did not play as much on offense, Pearson helped create the havoc which resulted in the turnovers that changed the game in FS's favor.
