Coming out party for Coldiron tonight. Another weapon for the Colonels in upcoming games.

 

Had it not been for a shoulder injury the summer before his frosh football season his name would be better known. Skilled kid in 3 sports. Good size. Runs well. Strong.

 

I would expect to see him on the varsity mound this year as well.

This is as small a Beechwood team as I can remember seeing. I know some of their posters have pointed out how small they are in previous threads, but it was still surprising to see how small they were.

 

A Lot of that has to do with how young they are. They start 4 sophmores and 6 play a lot. 2 start each on the offense and defensive line. They have a small senior class with only 8 that play significant minutes. They will be fine and that future continues to look bright. Was very impressed with Cov Cath and see them as a contender for the forseeable future.

Huh. How about that. I am pretty sure that's the first time this year that the Enquirer has even had a Beechwood score in the paper.

 

The great Enqurier anti-Beechwood conspiracy obviously still in effect.

 

I know right, so tiresome...

 

It is what it is. I am being serious. I believe that is the first time this year a Beechwood football score has been in the paper. Last week when Beechwood was hosting Franklin County, The Enquirer listed 6 or 7 games they called key matchups and didn't even mention Beechwood playing a 2-1 Franklin County team.

 

The Enquirer was lousy at covering NKY sports for years. What makes folks think with one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel they would change? That's why everybody read the KY Post. Although I surely miss the KY Post newspaper, thank goodness we have BLUEGRASSPREPS.COM!

Coldiron is a good big target to use in goal line fade passes.

 

The next two years are going to be fun battles between Beechwood and Cov Cath. Both teams have some really good juniors and sophomores.

Congrats to CovCath. Shocked at the final score in this one. Thought BW would have kept it closer.
