September 9, 201610 yr There are absolutely racist black people. Lots of them. If you're not talking about pure numbers, not sure how you measure who is more racist. Thank you for saying that. I can't tell you how many times I hear black people say they cannot be racist. As far as pure numbers, it's not a contest people! There are no winners; we are all losing right now because no one wants to have honest dialogue and open communication.
September 9, 201610 yr Thank you for saying that. I can't tell you how many times I hear black people say they cannot be racist. I have argued with several people about how absolutely ignorant it is to say black people can't be racist.
September 9, 201610 yr True for homosexuals , Muslims, and homosexual Muslims too, I hope. I dont dislike any that you mentioned. No reason too. Just because I dont agree with them dont mean I dislike them. I can also say I dont want to see homosexuality through their eyes either.

Honestly mountain ref might of had the most profound post in this topic. A white man can't see through the eyes of black man and vice versa. We both are coming from different angles and neither want to hear those different angles.

September 9, 201610 yr The article is an opinion. Plain and simple. The author makes some valid points but then shoots himself in the foot by saying more cops than not are targeting blacks. I've never understood how just walking away from a discussion solves anything. Kudos to Mnt Ref on an excellent post!!
September 9, 201610 yr I would love to see numbers to back up either side of the argument myself. I work with 2 police depts. that have over 250 sworn officers. If the problem is so bad, then why are these 2 depts spared of any rogue racist police officers? I mean, the only officer shooting of an unarmed person over the last decade I can think of was an officer who claimed to be in danger from a driver who was refusing to stop and ran over him. The officer was white, the deceased was also white. The last officer shooting in either dept that I can think of that involved a white officer and a black male was during a drug bust at a local hotel where the drug dealer shot at the officer, the officer dove into the bath tub of the hotel room while still taking fire from the suspect and then and only then could the officer return fire through the bathroom door and he hit the suspect who eventually died in the hallway of the hotel. So if it is such a rampant problem, why is it so hard to get proof of the problem in all these depts? Can someone please show us the numbers that prove the police depts in this country are filled with racist police out to kill the black man?
September 9, 201610 yr ^^^^^ I really IMO dont think a white cop wakes up in the morning and decides to go kill or beat a black person. Like Eric Garner. A white cop is blamed for the death but the media didnt really mention this. The arrest was supervised by a female African American NYPD sergeant, Kizzy Adoni, who did not intercede.[30] Adoni was quoted in the original police report as stating, "The perpetrator's condition did not seem serious and he did not appear to get worse."[31] Michael Brown. he tried to take a cops gun for petes sake and kill the cop. What else could the cop do? And I do know there are more instances of bad cops. But I have a hard time thinking cops wake up wanting to go arrest blacks.
September 9, 201610 yr It was pretty clear I was laughing about the irony of Deuce's post and his right after it... It was pretty clear you accused him of something he didn't do. :lol2: And like clockwork.... I haven't read the article yet, so I don't have an opinion on it at this time. I simply found it comical that literally one minute after his post, you did exactly what everyone knew you'd do, regardless of the content of the article; dismiss it. September 9, 201610 yr This will be my last post directed at you in regards to these topics... It's not about you disagreeing. It's not about you having a different perspective. It's not necessarily about you picking out "inaccuracies" in stories. With virtually every story that is posted, you REFUSE to discuss the actual issues, and you focus on trying to discredit the source or information. If your "he had a good point about BLM" was an attempt to say "See, I don't dismiss everything," it was a terrible attempt. You are a perfect example of someone you can't have a discussion with because of your focus on "the little things." You have made it clear that you will not move past anything in an article that you don't believe is true or isn't exactly right down to the decimal, so unless someone posts something you write or you look up, you're not going to focus your attention on where it should, IMO, be. If you put 1/4 the effort into discussing the real issues as you do trying to discredit everything posted, I honestly feel like we could have made some progress in some of these threads. But, here we are. So he's only allowed to comment if he agrees with everything in the article? I'm confused.
