By "they", do you mean the principal? The same genius that fired the head coach in May? That clearly had no plan and no idea what he was doing? That one? Because you're going to have to do a heck of a job selling me on the idea that any of the coaches said "Sure, go on over to teams that we have to play." I'm pretty sure that each and every player that left went to someone on their schedule, and unless they went to Greenwood or Bowling Green, they went to somewhere in their district. But sure, they said we don't want you, go somewhere else.

 

You comment about sympathy or respect.... I will simply refrain from expressing my thoughts on that. I will simply note that in my opinion, Warren Central is fighting for the very life of their program, and to give free release to any player who wished to leave would have been the death knell. Ask yourself, what do you really believe would happen if Central just said OK, go? What hope does Central have of ever regaining their ability to compete when players bolt, and what would prevent a player from seeking a better athletic opportunity if the school simply released anyone with their blessing when asked?

How does that make any sense? So you have a player that hasn't played 1 down for you ever, and you're going to let him come in and start over a player/players who have worked and earned the spot all year long? I don't get it. They should either be able to play now or not at all.

My assumption is that the suggestion is that you are ineligible from a year from when you last played. Central exited after week 1 last year, so suggestion is that these players would be eligible starting in the second round. I have no idea if that's true.

 

I have no idea who has been ruled eligible and who hasn't been, beyond knowing Greer is eligible at East, and Potter is eligible at Greenwood. For some of the others, if they truly could play after the first week of the playoffs, some of them will likely never play a down again because they may not win that first week - or even make the playoffs - and some would be asked to take on roles for 1-2 weeks. I'm not sure how much would really be entrusted to players that have missed all of that time, but who knows. But I have no idea if it's reality that they could play at that point, or if they'd simply be ineligible for the entirety of the year.

Kids that were at Central last year should not be allowed just to leave for the heck of it. KHSAA wont go for that nor should they.

then tell me how is reynolds eligible.also i dont think potter is elgible either . or even how is Greer eligible over anyone else all same circumstances.

I also believe a WC player moved to Russellville and is eligible from khssa but got on trouble at school and was suspended by coach i think his name is Thompson

I think SW wins this one. Don't think it will be a running clock this year. This is the best rushing attack SW has faced this season as Adams has big help from Reynolds. Will be a good test to see how good the SW defense will be. If Greenwood doesn't fare any better this year then 4A may be in deep trouble. I expect SW offense to be better with Namvong returning. I'll guess SW 28-7.

for any one out there how does a kid transfer from one county school to another with no questions asked a kid that admitted on tv the reason he left was to go to a better team(that is a violation according to khsaa guidelines )but Ford does everything he is suppose to do with the blessing of WC principle and he gets slow rolled by the system.they have given the ok then took it back.hard to trust the khssa

 

 

First of all, I don't think the Reynolds kid transferred with no questions asked. Warren East fought the transfer, he moved into Greenwood's district and the KHSAA declared him eligible. (He tried the previous year and was declared ineligible).

 

Second, I would like for you to tell my why the majority of athletes transfer to a different school. Any sport? From everything I see, Warren Central still has a football team. I'm guessing the kids attempting to transfer are doing so because they want to play for a better team. An example would be Jacob Lacey. He's not a "transfer" per say, but he doesn't live in South's district either. I don't think anyone is oblivious to the reasons kids transfer to different schools.

 

No one has a clue as to how the KHSAA makes their decisions. They baffle the mind. I guess a lot of times it's who you know and what strings you can pull.

Maybe if the county would make them pay a $5,000 SEEK to transfer to different schools inside the county maybe Warren Central would still have a decent football team and all the kids would be eligible... But seriously, it's ridiculous that we are in the 3rd week of the season and teams such as South Warren, Greenwood, Franklin, and East still get an answer from KHSAA. Are the coaches just not making the effort to get them eligible or does the process usually take this long? Can someone inform me? I know BG hasn't got a transfer from Warren Central, so I'm not up to speed on the whole situation.

Potter was struck down after the ruling just prior to the East game? That I did not know. I had never heard of Ford being eligible.

 

I don't know how any of them would be eligible to be honest. That includes Willie Reynolds given the nature of his statements. But as far as the Central kids, anyone with a brain and eyes knows what they were doing. The families were willing to take the risks - that's their prerogative.

You'd think the two schools (coaches and principles) would be able to handle it on their own without help from the Central Office. I've also "heard" (which probably means to be untrue) that if the Ford kid isn't eligible by the 5th week of the season, he would just want to go to school at South and not play. Hopefully this isn't true, but I find it sad that this would be the circumstance.

The Ford kid at SW lives in their district. They ruled him eligible a couple weeks ago, he started practicing and WC appealed it. Now they have to wait at least 15 days for the appeal. The KHSAA is a joke. If the initial ruling is that he can play then he should be able to play without penalty through the appeals process. All WC is doing is hurting these kids future. WC administration is the one who blew up their own program.

He can play through the appeal. If SW is willing to risk a forfeit for all games in which he plays.
