If anyone watched the nationally televised St X of Cincy game yesterday on ESPN U it sounds very similar. St X was in the redzone I don't know how many times and came away with 0 which included 3 or 4 missed FG's also. They ended up getting shut out and lost 34-0 or something like that. They looked also pretty undisciplined at times in that game but I don't think St X's coach has anything to worry about this year, just like JH's HC shouldn't either.

 

Cooper was very undisciplined against HHS with 3 unforced turnovers including 1 fumble in the endzone which led to a HHS TD as well as their defense the 2nd half couldn't stop anyone. Coach Borchers isn't on the hot seat. Instead he came back the next week and the team won the 50'th win in the young schools history.

 

Teams have bad games, it's part of football. I wouldn't hang the coach in effigy just yet.

When I talk about discipline with this team; I'm talking more so about penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct and celebrating after a big hit when you're down by 15, or pushing and shoving after the play when you're driving down the field to score. Not coming to practice for days and being allowed to start. Insubordination etc etc. Turnovers are part of the game, they should have even picked Bankhead off at least 3 times. They got one, we dropped one, and the refs took one away.

 

JH is a much better team on paper than North Hardin. That team last Friday was searching for a leader to calm them down and guide them through that storm they found themselves in. It was a rivalry game on the heels of getting embarrassed by BG the week prior. But instead what those young men got was predictable play calling and a staff that looked bewildered and lost at times, with the inability to keep his team focused. Coach Lewis is a good guy; and most people really like him because of that. Unfortunately, it might take a little more than being a good guy to turn this team around. They will win the district; it is extremely weak. They are gonna win a game or two in the playoffs (AGAIN WEAK TEAMS TO PLAY).

You should not worry they will win district (weak)and regional (overated)I don't see anybody that will play with them until semi state and that's when it ends South and or Simpson will beat them.then the bickering can start again

Weak District overrated region? Might not have the top team in 4A but I would say Region 2 has 6 of the top 10 in it...

Might want to watch out for L-ville Western...It is appearing that they have some talent playing together so far this season.

Kids have to have some accountability also in this. I have no dog in this fight, but do know that blame should not fall solely on the coach or the kids, but more like a mixture of both from the sounds of things.

I also have no dog in this fight. If the kids are getting personal fouls, late hits etc., then that does fall on them. That's the point I was trying to make

I respect everyone's opinion. if you believe the coach has no obligation or responsibility to the team to clean up late hits; celebrations, and personal fouls...we'll have to agree to disagree on that one. I whole-heartedly believe coaches have a big part in that type of behavior. Discipline is instilled from the top; so is leadership...IMO

I don't think anyone said the coach has no responsibility in that. At the same time if this is a one game thing then I wouldn't hang the coach over it. Now if it continues to happen in upcoming games then yes, maybe a coaching change is needed.

 

Every team has personal fouls called on them, some because of the game circumstances may be bigger than the kids can handle and it just gets out of hand, but it happens. If it continues to happen then the coach needs to be looked at hard.

Dog nation seems to blame others quickly, but he has alterior motives I'm sure. I bet Coach Lewis never talks to his team about personal fouls etc.. Lol. No alterior motives at all my man..if not for the coach to instill discipline to kids then who. Both share blame but coach should share much more. I don't think Lewis should be fired, but I think someone needs to raise the flag about whats going on.....and they did. Hopefully they'll turn it around.
