Exactly, Ashland in Putnam is worth at least one TD. Giving the Tomcat tradition / Putnam history and tradition, few teams go in there and come out with a W.

Did anyone notice how accurate Ashalnds kick offs were? It looked like someone finally took a soccer player and said just kick it like a soccer ball. His three kick offs had the pace and accuracy of a good soccer player playing soccer. Does anyone realize how close Ashland came to recovering the last one? He popped the ball into a void in Racelands return alignment and had the ball checked up not bounced right the Ashland kid would have recovered it easily.

Raceland's radio crew (WLGC) commented on that exact point.

Today, I have heard a lot of complaints about the Ashland football radio man Dickie Martin. Yes, he is over bearing and arrogant but I have to say that he does an excellent play by play though. Yes, he's a homer but remember, it is the Tomcat station so I expect it. Besides its hilarious to hear him having a break down and blaming anything and everything but the real reason for his team losing ...they got beat by a better football team. :sssh: :lol2:

I avoided getting aggravated by Martin last night. I listened to the Raceland radio crew on wlgc.

i was surprised that Ashland didn't go for two after the second touchdown. They had a chance to go up on Raceland for the first time in the game with under 5 minutes to play. They game had the Raceland will win in overtime feel. Maybe should have fired the shot when the opportunity was there.

JMO but maybe the coaches thought that they hadn't done anything, moved Raceland's D line all night so they couldn't block them to score a TD. Aside from that, ot's usually favor the home team and they liked their chances in ot.

Raceland was clearly the better team on this evening. Ratliff and Coburn kept this one from being a real blowout. Their elusiveness was quite amazing. If Ashland can't figure a way to better their line play they will struggle all season. Congrats on a solid win for the Rams.

^^ I didn't hear of them doing that, I personally don't approve of that escort either. My personal view is that we went to Putnam, did what we expected to do and I wouldn't have had it (We have beaten Ashland before and expect to again)

I do know it's not up to me or you though. This thing is about the kids and that's up for their coaches to decide. I will say that there's a possibility that the coaches may not have known about it before hand, I know one year a parent / booster had that done without checking with anyone.

We have fans and then we have super fans. Are you telling me your boys wouldn't enjoy the attention? Is it well past it's welcome? Yes. But come up with a better complaint than the community excited and wanting to celebrate. This is not the doing of the school or the team, community only.
