NKY Frosh Football Discussion

Featured Replies

About time for the freddies to get started. Figured we'd have a thread to discuss the boys.

I was really surprised to hear CCH only has 25 boys on the frosh team this year. I can go back to about 2001 and I don't recall a CCH team ever approaching that small of a roster.

I do look forward to seeing Michael Mayer on the gridiron. Can probably develop into a nice TE with physical maturity.

Highlands frosh roster has 40 boys.

Good mix of size and athleticism. Huddleston played at this level last year and should lead on both sides of the ball.

What kind of size do they have? What are some of the names of the players?

I **think** the final number is 28.

Does CovCath use a TE?

Not typically in Frosh ball.

Definitely small in numbers, but they have some players.

I hear they have good size on the line. Some of the names in skilled positions Ahlfeld, Hollingsworth, Huddleston, Delegrange to name a few.

Cooper Freshman have a lot of young men out. I believe at last glance I counted 43 on their roster which is pretty good size for a Freshman team. This is also Cooper's biggest Freshman class ever, I think, and so the numbers do not totally surprise me. They have quite a bit of skill players that are really talented and a few lineman with pretty good size. Sorry I don't know names yet but I do know they have a talented QB, two good RB's, and a good WR off the top of my head.

I was told Simon Kenton has close to 60 kids this year.

I think that the Independence area is much like the Union area. Those two places seem to be blossoming and building houses and businesses left and right. I have heard that Cooper should be above 2,000 students by 2019 school year. I know they are building three new subdivisions that they have broken ground on around the Cooper area, and so numbers should continue to increase and it seems like the same can be said for Independence. Every time I go to SK it seems like they are building something new! Ha ha.

Boone Co High School has its largest freshman team in years--I don't know exact numbers. I hope this is the beginning of a trend.

Sounds right, they did bring up a decent amount of 8th graders this year.

What 8th graders are you talking about. I am pretty close to the program and I haven't heard of any.

Just confirmed with a coach NO 8th graders on the Freshman team.

Thats interesting, than the AD at one of the feeder schools is lying, because they told me 8 of their 8th graders were on the freshman team at SK.
