Hmmm...interesting. Many on this side of the river feel the Lancers will start an eventual slide back to mediocrity (where they have lived their entire life, sans the past two years) but even if they do, should still be a good matchup for the Raiders.

I applaud the move I think the 6A Nothern Kentucky should be playing teams from across the river this whole time. Now I know that they are not 6A Northern KY, but if we could get Trinity and Colerain in Paul Brown Stadium for the opening weekend that would be The Must See Game of the Year!

Granted, NewCath isn't playing D1 OHIO schools but they play teams that are similar to this and it seems to help a ton.... sooooo

Ryle played Colerain, Scyamore and another Ohio school up north and it didn't help.

This statement is not entirely true,, I think Ryle beat DeSalles (sp) team from Columbus a couple of years ago. Other than that, I think they have lost pretty convincingly to the other Ohio teams they played.

Harbin cow - THAT'S an image...

 

Ohio HS football at the high D-I/D-II level is very good - talent, coaching, and commitment are all exceptional. That said, the parochial schools are generally a notch above. A lot of people feel that LaSalle has been the best HS football program in Ohio over the last 2 years, and could have beaten Lakewood St. Edwards (D-I champion).

 

Ryle has a nice program but they won't be able to run with LaSalle. I think scheduling a game against a public school like Sycamore may be less glamorous but more productive.

Lasalle just lost their dream team, they will come back to earth but it's still a GCL team. They will be as good if not much better as a Sycamore, who Ryle has played in recent years, annually.
