I'm not disagreeing with your post, but what do you mean the fieldhouse prints magazines? What newspapers or media are in the 10th region?

 

They do put out a pretty nice program and newspaper type thing especially for the various tournaments that are held at the Fieldhouse with some decent coverage of whatever teams that are involved. A ton of advertisements as expected are in them as well but I must say they do a great job with all the events held in the Fieldhouse..

I wasnt bashing CCH or their fans, or the gym... just staing that Mason Co. was overall a better package to watch basketball. Fans---CCh wins that one against anybody in NKY. Do you put 2000-2500 fans in the seats when your playing a nobody team? mason will do that 2-3 times a year, and when thyre playing a big time team (Clark, Pendleton, LexCath, S. Laurel) its just like a regional game. Packed!

I will say this about Cov Cath fans. No matter how crazy and loud they get, I've never heard them say anything degrading or mean to any opposing player or coach. They get my respect for that. Alot of times at highschool games when the school kids get it in their heads that they want to be noticed. They can get a little too out of control with their actions and their words.

The Ledger-Independent always has a special preview to the season on area teams. Also the teams that make the 10th region tourney get special recognition in a big pullout. Id venture to say not alot of other regions have this type of coverage.

I've actually seen games where CCH fans filled both the student section for the home and away teams because noone showed for the other team.

There have been games ('04 CCH - Boone aka Listerman vs. Listerman comes to mind immediately) where the gym has been packed by halftime of the JV game. I arrived about 30-45 minutes early to the Highlands / CCH game a year ago and was denied entrance.

 

If CCH had the facilities, I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't sell out their "big games" on a regular basis.

Not a draw. CCH wins that one going away. Im a 10th region guy, no question. But the one game i had the most fun at was a CCH-Highlands game about 8 years ago.

Apples and oranges....both have great atmospheres but for different reasons. Seeing a big time game in either location is a basketball junkies dream.

I have never been to Mason County, so I can't make a judgement call on that one. On the other hand... I cheered in the CCH section for 4 years, and it's hard to believe there is a better atmosphere, but 4pointplay said it pretty well - apples and oranges.
