August 4, 201610 yr One went flying off my deck while I was telling a story. One was on the raw end of a bike crash. Otterboxes aren't all that great. I know several people who have had their phone broke or bent in one. The phone survived in the Lifeproof. Just broke the Lifeproof and it didn't fully seal. I hadn't gotten around to getting a free one from them yet and it went swimming this morning. Saw a friend back his truck over his phone in an otterbox. Only damage was a scratch on the screen.
August 4, 201610 yr I dropped an iPhone 5 in an otterbox defender about 40 ft onto concrete from a pressbox, got a call while setting up camcorder. Otterbox was broken in couple places, phone was fine. My iPad Air has always been in an otterbox defender, it has survived a tumble down pressbox stairs, repeated slam to floors by a 3 yr old nephew that doesn't handle losing at video games well (I go back and forth between laughing or wanting to strangle him when he does it, but he is my fav.)

August 5, 201610 yr I'e had cell phones when they were the original flip phone with the pull out antennae. I've never broken one. I'll tell my boys they need to wrap it up and protect it. Dual meaning, but they are pretty good about it. Youngest broke his screen since he took off the cover to plug in the aux cord and stepped out of the car. He didn't bother to ask me to replace it. He went apple and had them fit it.
August 5, 201610 yr And here I thought ObamaPhone was supposed to make sure you could always get coverage even with pre-existing phone conditions.
