Mexico City is known cultural cuisine, a surprisingly moderate climate, kidnapping, sex trafficking, and drug cartels that infiltrate the United States.

This is the slippery slope I was talking about. How do you justify having events in some of these foreign countries and do this to NC. They have every right to do it. But they created a bigger controversy than the one they tried to avoid. Time will tell , I just don't think it was smart business.

July 23, 201610 yr Author What sponsors were leaving ? I don't know. I'm not on the inside. I would imagine that you can ask the same question now that the game has been moved, no? Have any Charlotte-based businesses pulled sponsorships of the NBA? I imagine that any LGBQT sponsorships or potential partners as well as LGBQT fan dollars were the motivation. Growth in this sector has to be considered an opportunity for the NBA on the back of Jason Collins a few years back. JMO.

This seems like a low financial risk for the league while potentialially aligning philosophies with LGBQT business partners and fans.

Sports leagues have partnered with China and Mexico for years without any controversy or issue. This is an extremely low risk financial move for the NBA, IMO. Time will tell, as you said. I feel like time has passed enough on the NBA's foreign partnerships to know that there is zero issue, economically.

I'm going to say you are wrong they took a side on a hot button issue. They would of loss zero money if they kept the all star game their. They took a position and it's their right. I love the NBA and I'll buy league pass regardless. With the demo they struggle with if I was their CMO I would of axed this decision.
