July 20, 201610 yr Had the 30 down/ 3 up with Time Warner in Louisville. Had to get a new router from TWC to get the new faster speeds, was easy to order and install myself. Now get anywhere from 130-180 down, 17-24 up. Same price, TWC has to keep up, Att also upgrading in Louisville and google fiber is coming soon It's a wrap for ATT and TWC when Google Fiber get to Louisville.

July 21, 201610 yr Out of curiosity, what service do people recommend for the Cincinnati area, as far as internet and cable? I currently have Direct TV, and it is awful. I don't know if it is due to where I am currently located, but I am moving in two weeks and want to get away from Direct TV. Is TWC a decent service?

July 21, 201610 yr I'd have to imagine it will be sooner rather than later. I hope so. I just looked at their website and Cincy isn't listed as a possible future city, which is discouraging. I am currently dealing with 10 up, 5 down, and it might be the most frustrating thing ever. Feels like I'm living in the Third World Country (obviously exaggerating).

If Fioptics internet is an option I would go with that. I've heard a lot of good and bad about the TV service. My DTV is awesome, so it could just be where you are located.
July 22, 201610 yr I am praying that the day comes when Google Fiber comes to Cincy area. Tw is more expensive but a better service than Bell. (I used to work for Bell doing the fioptics so I know) . With Bell you can pay for 50 mb and get 40 and that's acceptable to them. With TW I pay for 50 and get close to 90! Google fiber usually won't enter into a market that already has fiber competition. They want to monopolize not compete. Cincy government is in bed with Bell so it's unlikely they come here. Bell will be selling out soon. They are posturing their numbers to get the best offer. That's why they have been cutting cost and attacking their debt so hard. Which is why their service sucks. They were too cheap and bought bargain basement infastructure.

I switched from TWC to Direct for TV, and have no regrets. Still have TWC for internet, with no complaints.
July 28, 201610 yr I switched from TWC to Direct for TV, and have no regrets. Still have TWC for internet, with no complaints. My main regret/qualm with DTV is that I lose my TV connection even in the slightest rain storm. I am going back and forth between Fioptics and TWC....
