I asked once about these supposed tough Chicago gun laws. Two laws were mentioned in the answers; I did a little research and found both laws had been ruled unconstitutional and were not in effect.

The joke about Chicago and I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it yet but they have the toughest gun laws in the country, yet they are full of crime. Now it's not supposed to work that way. That's why we all mock Chi-Raq.

Too bad they don't make drug laws. Maybe that would help clean Chicago up a little.

Always the answer, things fail in a socialist world because the socialist world isn't socialist enough.

Too many numbers for me to crunch, and a bunch of the pages are turned sideways.

I had a bit of a time getting through this:

Forcei,t “ Race1iα ` X1i,tβ ` νt ` i,t,

Although I can understand this:

Blacks are three times more likely to report use of force by police in the raw data. Hispanicsare 2.6 times more likely. Adding controls for demographic and encounter characteristics, civilianbehavior, and year fixed effects reduces the odds-ratio to roughly 2.7 for blacks and 1.7 for Hispanics.Differences in quantitative magnitudes aside, the PPCS paints a similar portrait – large racial differences in police use of force that cannot be explained using a large and varied set of controls.

It shows that unless you can put a fence around an area with "tough" gun laws that the impact is minimal. It's not the LAWS that are the problem (although we can argue they are not a solution) it's the fact that the guns are often times coming in front outside of the city - legally and illegally. Just because I can't buy certain guns legally IN Chicago doesn't mean I can't go get those guns if I want to.

Do dry counties in KY stay dry or do people go get their liquor elsewhere?

In your opinion, which is no more or less valid then mine or anyone else's. In my opinion the issue of violence against black victims MUST include that perpetrated by blacks on blacks. .

We are talking about the issue of red herrings (Chicago black on black crime) in the case of the occasional bad shootings by police against blacks. Why does any of what you say matter in this are? You are doing exactly what I said people do. The issue IN THIS THREAD is why we talk about OTHER issues when the issue AT HAND is a questionable shooting against a PARTICULAR black man.

No one argues your point that it must be addressed. However, AGAIN, it doesn't have anything to do with the two shootings being debated, thus, this thread.

So when the families of the two men recently shot complain about a "bad shooting" where are you going to fit in "black on black crime" "Chicago" or "BLM" in your response to them?

Always the answer, things fail in a socialist world because the socialist world isn't socialist enough.

Socialism? :idunno:

Just seems ridiculous for someone to act like people can't guns because of Chicago's alleged tough laws. I've spent my entire life driving a county or two over to buy beer what would keep someone from traveling to buy a few guns that are easy to get in Indiana.

Chicago is trying a lot of avenues to solve their problems gun control is just one.

Took less than 24 hours.

Not my fault your party is exposed daily in Chicago. When something is going wrong 365 days a year, might want to reevaluate your plan?

The real problem in Chi-Raq is they have failed to provide economic stability. Most of the inner city people have 2 choices; crime or abusing drugs, to escape the reality of the situation.

Additionally, they've failed to make people independent from government systems, who's existence depends on their depriving.

I don't know where I saw it, maybe it was here? But, it said something like "bringing up such things as black on black crime/killings in Chicago when talking about blacks being killed by police is like going to an AIDS benefit telling that cancer kills too".

That's not just a Chicago problem. That is a nationwide inner city problem and it all starts with drugs being pumped into inner cities.

Both parties are exposed daily when it comes to the influx of drugs into the inner cities of America.
