July 10, 201610 yr We are going to be in the NKY/Cincinnati area Monday night and Tuesday night for the Kentucky Propane Gas Association state meeting and are looking for a good, family friendly place to eat Monday night (they are having dinner for us Tuesday night inside the aquarium supposedly). There will be 10 of us total, ranging from age 1.5-60. A bar is a necessity. Suggestions?
July 10, 201610 yr Barleycorn's is a nice place for a group. Can dine in or on the patio. What part of NKY are you staying?

July 10, 201610 yr Embassy Suites down by the Levee maybe?? While it's not very far from Newport and the Levee the Suites are in Covington. At the Levee is a place called Brothers that has burgers/sandwiches/pub food and a nice beer selection. Has my favorite appetizer of all-time in their cheese curds. You also have a great pizza place called Dewey's at the Levee. Ice cream shop there as well.

July 10, 201610 yr Embassy Suites is in Covington. Main question would be whether or not you have a vehicle at your disposal.
July 10, 201610 yr We love Brother's on the Levy. Not sure when they stop allowing children in though - (maybe 8?). The Levy does have great food such as Dewey's Pizza. Love sitting on the patio at Brother's to view the river
July 11, 201610 yr Strongs brick oven pizza is also right by the levee. Love this place. But seating is limited and no full bar. Just canned/bottled beer. Buckhead is not too far away and a very solid place. Love their patio.

July 11, 201610 yr If you want to eat at or near the levee you might try Hofbrauhaus or possibly Pompilio's though the latter is going downhill a little.
July 11, 201610 yr Strongs brick oven pizza is also right by the levee. Great call. Cool little place as well. Voted best pizza 3 years running.

Love sitting on the patio at Brother's to view the river I don't consider brothers to be family oriented. Deweys is good. Buckhead is a grant idea. Joe's Crab Shack is ok. But the Embassy is in Covington. Trying to think of a nice family joint in main Straus area and can't think of one. And I was Just there tonight. What about walking over the bridge to the banks. Yard house or Morlein ?
July 11, 201610 yr The Gruff is a cool spot but probably better for lunch as opposed to a party of 10. The Gruff | Covington, KY If you're looking to hang out and have some beers, I would probably recommend Yard House At The Banks in Cincinnati. it's MLB all star break so should be fairly quiet and you won't have any problem getting a table. They can also accommodate large parties very easily. Tons of beers on tap, good food and a cool spot in the city. Plus, there is some green space and a little park nearby for the kids to enjoy before or after dinner.

Closed on Sunday's anyway.
