July 14, 201610 yr Never been to the Chart House and never really hear much about the place. It must be good since it's been around so long while being on the river. Been there a few times. It is a chain and I do the one in Redondo Beach occasionally. Each have their own little feature. The salad bar n the Cali location is unreal.
July 14, 201610 yr Well, we ended up going to the Chart House in Newport. We called and told them we had 3 kids under the age of 7 and they literally said, "Bring them on." When we got there, there was only 8 other people in the restaurant. Very cool place and the appetizers were awesome. I ended up getting the filet mignon and it was tasty. My wife got the Cuban shrimp and it was awesome. We ate lunch on Tuesday at a place in downtown Cincinnati called Jefferson Social. Super cool spot. It was taco Tuesday and we tore it up! Thanks again for all the tips! You didn't tell us that you were going fancy lol. Glad ya'll enjoyed it. Jefferson Social is a nice little spot.

July 14, 201610 yr Called a guy at SYSCO Foods, Chart House in Newport opened in March of 1996. Should have set it at 30 years. I was in there a couple of years ago and knew the Mgr. He used to work at the Precinct. Said he had just called Ruby to thank him for closing the Waterfront because it gave him a nice bump in business. He was waiting dearly for those high end condos and the potential boat dock to open up right in front of his place. We went there a few weeks ago for a drink and did not see him there. Construction makes it a bear to get there.

Thanks TAC...Good communication ( ability to active listen and give spouse the belief she is right often ), hard work ( :banana: ), and the ability to make her laugh often have been the keys to success. It doesn't hurt that we still dig each other after 20 years of marital bliss!

July 18, 201610 yr Holy seafood coma...36 hours later and I'm still recovering! :lol2: Lava cake is still amazing as was the crab cake, oysters, lobster bisque...and be sure to get the shrimp beignet app ( always fantastic ). Chart House makes a great Bloody Mary as well. Had a great evening and spared no expense...20 years of marriage gets you that! The Chart House knocked it out of the park.
