Where do you go for local news?

Featured Replies

I fired the enquirer a while ago. While I miss the morning paper, I don't miss the info that is 2 days old. Other than BGP where do you go for free to keep up to date with local news. Especially in NKY?

Thanks!

I've been checking out the "River City News" for a couple of years now since Clyde brought them to our attention with his periodic postings of links to their articles. It seems pretty good at keeping me informed with what's happening locally.

There's another one that I'm aware of called the "Northern Kentucky Tribune", but I haven't yet developed the muscle memory to think about regularly checking them out, so I can't really comment on if they're good or not.

Don't catch too much TV news. Need to do so. Never listen to the radio.

Still can't get the hang of it. Hard to read and too much news. Who do you follow for local news on Twitter?

Thanks, I knew of river city and need to check it out more frequently. The Tribune looks interesting too.

I follow Local12

I like to use Twitter as an aggregator. It's easier to get through if you follow some writers who cover the beats you're interested in. I don't really know anything about NKY, but here in Louisville I follow a few local TV reporters, the local guys who cover Frankfort and Metro Council for the Courier Journal, and several writers from the Louisville Eccentric Observer and Insider Louisville.

As far as regular coverage: I read the Courier Journal as much as I can; I read Insider Louisville every day; I check the LEO most every week.

I just listen to my co-worker in the cube next to me. I get all the news, gossip, dirty laundry, all day long.

I follow most everyone but you can probably pick out a few favorites from each network in KY, Cincy, Knoxville, etc. and cover everything. Twitter is easily the fastest way to get news.
