I believe he is talking about the 2nd new coach, the one replacing Tony Bacigalupo who is going to focus on his A.D. role.

I had no idea Tony was not going to be on the bench this year. Hate to hear that, but hope it pays off for him professionally.

There is only one new coach. Speculation is that the new JV coach is the former Highlands frosh coach.

Sorrell the new bench coach. Benny Franzen the new JV coach.

Who are the 2 new coaches and where did they come from?

Sorrell and Franzen. CovCath goes young on the bench, good moves. Sorrell very good basketball IQ, Franzen one of best frosh coaches in 9th Region last two years.

I didn't know they were bring on a new coach to replace him. Bench seems pretty full with coaches already.

As usual, you are wrong. CovCath added two new coaches, Sorrell and Franzen. Please check your facts.

Oh, look. Thor has a stiffy going for me.

Glad to hear they added to new coaches. Heard good things about Franzen. Sorrell got some good experience as a GA at Winthrop.

Sorrell and Franzen great additions to CovCath. Meanwhile, my Holmes Bulldogs stand pat with Listerman as head coach. Holmes will never compete with CovCath in the future at this rate. While CovCath adds two young up and coming coaches in Sorrell and Franzen, both who could succeed Ruthsatz if/when he leaves, Holmes has no idea or plans about the future. Congrats to CovCath for having a plan, shame on Holmes for not bringing in Brad Carr as head coach for this season.

Well, not many head coaches hire to replace themselves. I thought I read where they did hire two new coaches at Holmes.

Which Sorrell?

Franzen will be sorely missed at Highlands

Age? Local guy? Campbell County Franzen?

From what I heard, he is a great addition to the CovCath program. Very positive with the players, knows the game, coached under Nancy Winstel at NKU as a student I was told. Huge loss for Highlands, but what else is new over there lately in basketball?

Not sure where he went to high school. I heard he was a student coach at one time under Nancy Winstel at NKU. Spent 2 or 3 years at Highlands, did a nice job and CovCath noticed the way he relates to the players. Great addition for CovCath, he and Sorrell.
