I think Mercer county could be set to take state this year. They have back to back trips to the sweet16, making it to the simifinals last season. The strength of their team will all, except 1, be juniors this year and they could be favorites for a couple years. I live in Mercer county and my kids go to school there so take this for what it's worth!

Mercer County very good but live and die with the 3 point shot. Question is consistent high percentage shooting.

This I agree with, however they do have a real slasher in the Huston girl. She seems to,along with Robins, be able to create her own shot. They will be fun to watch, to say the least!

10 team and VERY exciting to watch!!! Can they shoot it well enough 5 days in a row to win the big banner is my concern for them!

I am hearing word that another transfer from the northern kentucky area will be suited up in the red and black at GRC. I believe she has played AAU ball for a current assistant coach on the GRC staff that coaches her on the AAU circuit.

Things change from the summer to now from transfers, injuries, and kids just hanging it up. Have any of the top teams added or lost any players?

Do not sleep on Eastern in the 7th. They will be very competitive.

To me always disappointing when people post negative comments about individual players. To me these are young women doing their best both athletically and academically and to point out a perceived weakness as an adult is just sad. As I have always stated thank the good lord these dedicated young women do not read this crap!!!

Your lament and admonishment is spot on, 12willyp12, but the problem is they DO read it. Or their friends, parents and teammates read it and it gets back to them. I could give you countless examples, hurtful examples, of that. And being closely tied to some of those particular situations that were being discussed, I can tell you that the adults posting the negativity really did not and do not know what they were talking about.

 

These are young women who are playing a game, most of them just for fun. It would be nice if all the adults remembered that.

And let me clarify that even IF the adult espousing a criticism, put-down or hateful opinion about a player DOES know something about the situation, that doesn't make the negativity any less hurtful.

I completely agree with your post. However I'm a little puzzled as to why you felt lthe need to post on this thread. I reread the entire thread any did not see any comments that were negative or downgrading to any individual player, or really any team for that matter. Again, I totally agree with your comments, just wondering why this thread.

I saw the same thing. Campbell is not top 10, at all! They have two players and the game I saw, Clos could not handle pressure and hardly scored, if at all. She also had no one to pass to without Jolly and Kramer. Sorry Campbell fans but this is true. I agree with RCC, they are not even top 20 this year.

No Harney (still rumors though) and Buckner has a serious injury. But SK has enough depth to still finish top 10 in Kentucky this year. They should win the region without much issue and then they will make a run in the state tourney. Should be a great season for the Lady Pioneers!
