Toyota???? Duhhh!

 

In Clark County? Is there a Toyota dealership there? Or are you saying people move there to work at Toyota in Scott County?

 

Honestly though...How many transfers has GRC now had in the past 3 years?

Still puzzling how a couple years ago, one young lady was in a Bath Co uniform in the All A state tourney and literally the very next week was in a GRC uniform.

 

We literally played her in Middle School ball at one school and then at GRC for Freshman and Varsity ball within weeks. And it was my understanding she was at another Middle School just prior to that.

I would think sooner or later the parents of home grown kids would start getting upset that these kids comes in and plays over their kid that has played all through middle school but is not good enough in high school.

I've never understood this line of thinking. Just because your good enough to play in middle school or as a freshman shouldnt guarantee playing time as an upperclassman. Instead of getting upset get your tail in the gym and get better. Or you can always play golf.

I think it's a little different than that in transfer situations. I hear what you're saying and don't disagree. You should never stop working. However, I could also understand frustration from a player and parents that have been in the school system since day one, played their way up and earned their spot every year. Then multiple transfers come in and take spots they feel they had earned. If they grow up in the system, they know what they are up against and probably feel they have earned their stripes and then to have a more talented group of kids come in and take their spots has to be frustrating.

 

I'm not an entitlement guy AT ALL! I'm also a guy that knows there is always someone better than you and nothing is guaranteed. But I can also see the other side of the frustration for a kid that has busted their tail and has no desire to play at the next level. They just wanted to have a great high school experience and represent their school. Then that's kinda pulled out from under them when a school gets multiple transfers. Sure, the easy response is work harder. But you don't have a heart if you don't see what that does to some kids when the spot they have been waiting for and working for is pulled from underneath them with little control from them.

So maybe this should be its own thread, and I'm unsure what's bluegrasspreps legal to say here. But can anyone give any information about the Harney girl coming to SK or a different team? I would think this would need to be decided soon? I bring this up here because it would certainly would influence the top ranked teams. If she lands at SK that will be huge. Some of said its Holy Cross, SK or Highlands. But then others chimed in with tons of other options. Can anyone shed light on the situation? It will have an immediate impact on whatever team and the surrounding players she picks. It seems like no one at SK really knows anything and yet everyone is wondering what's going to happen. Someone out there must have insight?

You're right, immediate impact player at any of the schools you named. Very nice player and any team would benefit from her presence on the floor.

Ummm okay, they're like 25 minutes away and by all accounts, people get brought in for jobs all the time and just happen to have great kid athletes for schools in that area.

My guess is that neither of the last 2 transfers were job related. Just my guess.

I am hearing word that another transfer from the northern kentucky area will be suited up in the red and black at GRC. I believe she has played AAU ball for a current assistant coach on the GRC staff that coaches her on the AAU circuit.

SK has a lot of depth already, it will affect a lot of players if she comes to SK.

With 4 juniors not coming back to play, I would have to disagree with that assessment. After the first 8, I would say that depth is an issue. In addition, several of the first 8 have lingering injury/illness issues. There will be plenty of PT for all.
