I wish I could predict a win for the Cats but I have to be realistic. The line is horrific they couldn't hold back Western Hills. The receivers were inconsistent so the bell will be back up on the Hill once again. 39-8 Breds.....

Geez the Cats had to be doing something right in winning their first game of the year beating Frankfort Western Hills 39-7!!!

It's not like they had to pull it out at the end or come from behind. Maybe the O-line line play isn't all there yet but the defense had to be at least decent.

I don't think this one is going to be a shootout and at times might become a defensive struggle.

Yeah the right thing they did was schedule such a bad team. As ESPNGUY stated earlier their best chance was last year and look what happened. If they win I'll eat crow but that chance isn't very good.

I have to give the cats a little credit, not a blow out going to be a close one

I have no idea about Newport...but I can not imagine NCC losing two in a row to start the season...I will have to say the 'Breds win this one

I'm going with Newport in this game. NCC is good, but they lost everything from last year's team that made them so good. Kiernan, Litmer and Vicars are back, but they are once again a one dimensional team. Passing game is no where near where it was last year. Diehl throwing the ball and Canafax, Bueter and Gesenhues catching the ball were the straw that stirred last year's drink and really opened up the running game. Unless the new qb and receivers improve dramatically from last week and from the Dixie scrimmage that I watched, NCC is a run only offense. And we all know its much easier to defend a one option offense. If they do improve dramatically, then I think NCC will win. At this time for purposes of this guess, I'm assuming they will not improve passing the ball enough in one week to say they will win. Like both teams and coaches a lot, but I'm going with Newport. Good luck to both teams.

I dont think Newport is going to score much on the breds this year cuz of the struggling O-line but the defense is 100 percent better than last year which couldnt stop anybody.

If NCC is one dimensional running the ball they didn't do that very well in the opener and statiscally (62 yards rushing, 228 passing) would lean towards the other way. In other words, if I was NCC I wouldn't be worried about the passing game right now I'd be worried about the running game.

Gotta go with NCC here. 24-7

As Coach Perry used to say at Hanover, "You improve the most between your first and second game."

NCC 35-17.

I'd like to see Newport trounce Ncc, but it's not going to happen. Newcath 27-Newport 13
