Rockcastle County 2 Corbin 0

Featured Replies

Both of these teams are going to be in the hunt this year. Good game to watch. #38 for Rock will give defenses headaches this year running the ball. 3Wishes, I tried to get over to say hi to you after the game, But couldn't make it over in time.

sean nolan had a real nice game on defense

From what I've heard from people at the game....the play calling on the Rockcastle County side wasn't much better.

I couldn't tell from not seeing the game, but I would have liked to have seen the Rockets utilize their big O line more and run the smashmouth football like I expected to see.

Izak McQueary had a tough time behind center tonight and I expect him to get better each week. This is a very bright young man with a good head on his shoulders who will get things straightened out. My ONLY question was why did Dusty Miller see a limited number of carries tonight? J/W.

I thought Rockcastle tried what they believed they could........run up the gut, 9 times out of 10 that was stopped for minimal gain. Seems the quick hitters to the FB produced the best. The QB wasn't close on his passes.

The late hit penalty against Corbin came on a fumble.........you normally see hits come later on about every play.

I think the no call on roughing the punter was probably right........punter scaramles to avoid a block......he then becomes a runner and not a punter....correct me if I'm wrong.

Later running into the kicker was called and not roughing, I didn't see the contact on the play so I can't comment.

Didn't see the hold on the punt return so I can't comment on it either, although Freeman didn't score on the play, he was ruled out at the 3.

Bottom line is if you can't score - you can't win. And with less than 70 yds TO you can't score.........

I thought Josh Sanders was probably the player of the game for Corbin.

It should be noted that in the Rockcastle/Corbin update thread that Cashen went out before the 4th qtr started and didn' return (possible groin injury). It was Freeman tackled in the endzone for the safety, I believe this was his first series.

I guess you could call it communication problems on the Corbin sideline?????but i believe it was an equipment problem with Josh Sanders helmet. Sounds as though Rockcastle announcers didn't do a good job describing some small events of the game. The real problem came late in the game with Corbin having 2 illegal substitution calls on defense.............was that players not being where they should be or coaches not having them there?

A lot of arm chair QB's on this web site. Dusty is a good player, but the sophomore TB, Cody Mize brings a lot of fresh legs, speed, and natural running ability to the game. The best drive that Rock had was when all the starters except the QB and 2 lineman left the game. This was probably the best move of the night. Gave the D rest to come back in fresh and put the game away.

The ROckets TB had 111 yards tonight. A 10th grader, Cody Mize. If it ain't broke don't fix it. That was why He was playing so much TB. Dusty was playing great D and ended up getting the MVP of the game. It will be a 4 headed monster this year with the 2 great TB (Miller, Mize) and the 2 great FB (Hensley, McHone). Rock utilized their minimal depth and fresh legs while Corbin had to keep their guys out there. Rocks JV team really stepped up driving the ball down the field and scoring until the penalty called it back. I don't believe Corbin made it past the Rock 40 yard line all night. They only had 14 yards passing and 26 yards rushing. That was a dominat performance IMO, when the other team (Rock) had over 200 yards of offense. They just couldn't get it done inside the 10 tonight for penalties, lack of execution and Corbins desire in the red zone. statman, Rock ran the ball 45 times out of 57 plays, what do you mean you wish they would've ran more and utilized their strength? I was pleased with the refs for the most part, however, the play that went for over 50 yards for Rock and was called ack for a hold on the WR (#81) was flat out ridiculous. WYMT has excellent view of the downfield block and it was perfect, even in the game you could see he executed a perfect down field block. I am just as excited that Rock now has 4 backs to rely on instead of the 2 that were previously thought, it gives depth and fresh legs.

Everyone thought rock would roll..wow what a surprise.

Well, Les Dixon thought the Hounds would roll. He was wrong.

Corbin had 14 players on the field! Automatic 1st down since it was 4th and 4.

14?

14?

Yes 14...

To make things worse Rock only had 10 at the time. LOL

Anything on Cashen's injury? Is it serious or just didn't want to risk anything?

Wow Thats a shocker i thought corbin didn't have a chance. Rock better come to play against harrison

Don't worry , they will.

Rockcastle moved the ball better than the Hounds and that was expected behind that big line.........but the Big D showed that when it gets down to the nitty that they can stand tall. Just gotta get that OFFENSE going! I think I said that before! But hey ......Im sure the Rocks D had something to do with it as well.:sssh:

Rock needs to improve the offense. The D played great. The offense will get better, believe me. After losing the 3 year QB Burkhart and the TB Stallsworth on the offense, Rock took a big loss, but the offense will get better. Don't count the Rock out. A tail kicking by Danville last year, the Rock was not considered a playoff contender. But the trip to the semi-finals proved people wrong.

Last year Owensboro Catholic JV played Henderson Co. JV to a 2 - 2 overtime game that Henderson Co. ended up winning 8 - 2. I don't believe I've ever seen that.
