Odd discussion on D-Day

Featured Replies

I'm just opening up the discussion. I've seen it floating around on social media , then I over heard a discussion today and was also brought up on a group discussion email .

The jist a large majority of the soldiers were white racist males who freed white European racist males while the United States still had Jim Crow in the south .

Didn't a bunch of white males fight in the Civil War to free blacks from slavery.

How do you figure that?

See post 15. This sounds to me like made-up hogwash. I also object to the fact that this thread is based on unsubstantiated hearsay. Such only demeans the brave soldiers who participated in one of the greatest invasions in history.

@LIPTON BASH Do you have any links?

I didn't say I read an article . I saw discussions on social media , participated in a private discussion via email where diverse group discusses different topics everyday.

Until today it was the first I'd heard of this statement so I through out as a discussion point because I didn't know if this were a topic of discussion I'd been missing.

So by this post what are you saying I'm lying about ? That this wasn't something I read on twitter ?

You find odd things to call me a liar on .

Also your post doesn't make any sense. What fact am I claiming that is unsubstantiated? Type in a few key words on twitter and there you go. I started a topic based on other discussions I've seen or had.I don't even think you understand whatthe words you use mean.

You're the top guy in the BGP debating society when it comes to posting unsubstantiated hearsay ... and then soliciting feedback on the premise that it's legit. You started something last week on Obama's "apology" in Hiroshima (there was no apology), and then you also claimed to "prove" voter fraud in Cleveland based on a conversation you had with a neighbor.

Here's a novel idea: Try doing a little homework before throwing these cow patties against the wall and hoping that some of it sticks.

I'll admit, I'm curious to actually see one of these Facebook posts claiming D-Day remembrance as racist. I spent a solid 10 minutes searching Facebook, Twitter and Google for anything along those lines and found absolutely nothing.

Obama's apology in Hiroshima wasnt a thought I was alone in . It was all over the Internet and news . You may not agree with said thought but it doesn't make it untrue.

The statistical fact that some of Cuyahoga counties precincts results were impossible is a matter of public record. If you don't want to believe my neighbor that's cool. I have no reason not to.

Essentially what your saying is my opinion doesn't matter and any thing I read or experience in real life doesn't matter. I'm not the only person you have a called a liar from their real world experience on this site.

Just because you refuse to believe something doesn't make it not true. Very weird posts by you.

Also on this topic if you paid attention to social media which is guess you don't . A trending topic yesterday was " Blackness Day" or something to that affect . Some people got upset they were trying to over shadow D-Day which lead to some off shoot conversations like this one.

I didn't realize starting a topic based on conversation I read on twitter would somehow make me a liar.

Now I see UKM's point about these threads now some posters make this site unenjoyable.

I start a topic based off twitter and a conversation had with friends . I post a general topic because I respect some posters opinions. Instead it delves into accusing me of lying. I don't even know what I'm lying about. I haven't posted an opinion.

It's happening more and more on here all the time.

You also need to understand who has been attacking you. I don't even think half the board still sees his posts.

Met a young lady from England, back in 2009. She was over here on a student visa or something. She had the nerve to say that it was USA's fault for all of the terrorism in her country following 9/11.

I let her know that she should be praising the USA while she was here, because if it wasn't for us, she'd be fluent in German. That flirting session ended rather quickly, but it's cool cause she had ugly teeth.

Lying isn't the issue here. It's credibility. I also searched for about 20 minutes last night and came up empty.

Tomorrow I'm going to start a thread with a headline that reads: "All BGP posters from X County are child molesters." I'm going to say I heard about these allegations on Twitter and Facebook and in discussions. Then I'm going to ask for feedback. Sorry, no links or Twitter screen grabs that I can share. You'll just have to trust me because "I'm your friend." Then I'm going to get offended when people challenge my allegation.

Boy, someone has their panties in a wad! :sarcastic:
