ANAHEIM, CALIF. (AP) – Hispanic voters in Florida, New Mexico and California have waved Mexican flags and bashed Donald Trump piñatas — clashing with police, at times — to protest the Republican presidential contender's hard line approach to immigration.

 

Yet far from the protests, an increasingly vocal Hispanic minority is speaking out in favor of the brash billionaire. They are backing Trump even in the face of resentment and suspicion from friends and family, who are among the overwhelming majority of non-white voters opposed to the New York businessman's candidacy.

 

"I'm not ashamed to vote for Trump. I'd just rather not have the conversation with my family," said Natalie Lally, a 22-year-old college student from New York City whose large extended family has Colombian roots.

Im guessing this poll is flawed? It has to be. Let me tell you why. It does not go along with what you believe or have been told by your party leaders or the National News. Let me see if I can find one that has Hillary or Bernie getting all the Hispanic vote to post so you and the resident libs can agree with it.

The article has Trump getting around 23% of the Hispanic vote. Romney got 27% and he acknowledged that was a failure of his campaign.

 

After reading article I really didn't see anything other than the title that should give Trumpers reason to celebrate. Even the personal anecdote cited was of a 20 something who was going against the rest of her family in her support of Trump.

 

Post again when that number is at 28%.

 

IMO, we will see that 23% dip as we get closer to Election Day.

Better spell this out: that leaves 77% voting for someone else. Wonder who that would be ?

If Trump is suddenly doing so well with attracting the Hispanic vote, then maybe the rhetoric about all the Dems letting immigrants in so they can for Dems and sway the races should stop.

We all know about the democratic push to get anybody who can pull the lever in the booth whether they are legally allowed to vote or not. The concetration of that effort is with the millions of illegal immigrants. So any poll that shows a favorabilty rating or choice percentage I have to view as misleading and false being that we don't know if those opinions legally count or not.

By their very nature, don't voting polls only include those legally eligible to vote??

^ No, they don't. These are not voting polls. This is not exit polling data. These are opinion polls so what are the qualifications to be polled. I'm pretty sure it's targeted and not screened.
