Tyler Eifert undergoing ankle surgery, expected to undergo 3 month recovery

Featured Replies

Another year, another unfortunate injury for Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert.

This time, it involves the Pro Bowl tight end getting a surgical procedure on his ankle, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. The surgery is reportedly on the ankle that Eifert injured in the 2016 Pro Bowl, which was thought to be minor at the time, yet apparently was more serious than we all thought.

But in the nearly four months since, the ankle has not responded as quickly as all of the parties would have liked and The Enquirer has learned from multiple league sources that the 25-year-old tight end will undergo what was deemed a "minimal procedure" on that ankle soon.

A three-month recovery is anticipated.

I know it can happen anytime but if owned a NFL team my players would not be playing in any All Star games and if that means The Roger and I headed to court over it so be it.

Seems simple to me:

A. Make it to the Super Bowl then they cant play

B. Make the contract bonus for making the pro bowl more than the reward that they would get by going. In other words pay them not to go.

Cincinnati and All Star games. Barry Larkin was having a career year in '89 and tore up his elbow doing a skills competition. I hate the Pro Bowl.

I did once. I was out with a Super Hottie and BOOM here comes Tyler and his girl. Wow!

Moral of the story, it is okay being the second best looking couple in the place. :jump:

Shame that they didn't just do the surgery four months ago. My ankle still isn't right from a level 3 ankle sprain 18 months ago.

Hellbird mentioned this a few years ago and he may have a point. The Bengals medical staff doesn't seem to be that great. It seems they commonly misdiagnose things and usually completely get the timeliness wrong. There is no reason he should miss time for an ankle injury that happened in January.

The guy in charge is different now than it was a few years ago.
