Sports where women can beat men...

Featured Replies

I know from past discussions on here the majority of BGP members think women can't compete with men in most sports.

Some have argued in the past that the best women's college basketball team couldn't beat an average boys high school team. I think UConn women for instance would beat the majority of high school teams they would play and only loses to a few teams with actual D-1 talent...but that's an argument for a different thread.

So BGP...what sports can women/girls compete with men/boys at the same level?

There are a few that I know of right off, but I'm curious to see what others say before posting my thoughts.

I can't tell you how much I think you're wrong that UConn women could beat most high school boys teams. Simply not happening. Not quick enough. Not strong enough. Not big enough.

I remember your thoughts on that subject.

How about the question of this thread, are there any sports where the "Weaker Sex" has a chance to beat faster, stronger more agile men?

I guess a really good girls' golf team could beat some boys' teams.

Bass fishing.

Bowling?

I think a lady has won a national event on the PBA tour against and all male field.

Just watched the Archery Nationals in Louisville two weeks ago...I think 4 of the top 6 overall scores were from girls (one was an 8th grader). Teams from 40 states and close to 10,000 total archers and those girls were within 2 points of the lead.

We also know women can beat men in driving as Danika Patrick won an Indy car race and the Force Girls routinely beat men week in and week out at the drag strip.

How about Wrestling or Judo?

No. At lower levels, absolutely. I've seen plenty of girls win matches in middle school school wrestling, especially when it's an older girl wrestling a younger guy. But once the girls get older and wrestling more mature boys, it gets ugly quick. I imagine there are a few college level girls that could beat some average high school guy wrestlers. But any really good high school boy would beat all but the real high level, olympic type female wrestlers.

Any activity where you can drink and smoke while you compete is not considered a sport.

It's a recreation.

I'm pretty sure there have been a few High School State Champions and Runners Up that were Girls.
