For me, it makes a little more sense to go with the microwbrew, if I'm okay with the price. If I'm sitting down and having 2-4, I feel like I'd much rather go with the beer that tastes better to me. As I get older, I don't forsee the day long affairs much anymore, so I'd rather go with what I'd enjoy more.

May 20, 201610 yr This is a tough one. At first glance, I was inclined to agree with you MJ and go with Truth. The more I thought on it though, I think it'd be chore for the "guys days" when you're drinking all day. While it's not my favorite beer by any stretch, I think I'd go with Madtree's Lift. Light enough to drink more than a couple, but flavorful enough to still get that craft taste.

But if it's beer it means an all day fair like golf or a fishing trip. Now that the weather is turning , day drinking outside at the pool. Those type of things I'm cool with a regular domestic. Microbrew for me is either at a work happy hour or visiting the microbrews in downtown Cleveland which is more rare for me.
May 20, 201610 yr My favorite beers tend to be darker and heavier -- North Coast's Old Rasputin, Weihenstephaner's Korbinian, Against the Grain 70k Imperial, etc. -- but I don't know that I could go for those the rest of my life and only those. Sometimes you need something lower in alcohol and a little lighter on the stomach for things like afternoons by the lake, football tailgates, or watching games at the pub. Maybe a session IPA like the Rheingeist Zen or Founder's All-Day IPA is where I'm heading with this.

I think I'd just play the odds and wind up way drunker than I should be haha. Typical guy day now consists of a six pack of Truth, 12 pack of Miller Lite and a Growler I wind up sharing, plus whatever randoms I throw in. Doesn't mean it all gets drank, but that's what I start with.
