Can't really do this...but you can step off the base and end your offensive half of the inning and after doing a little research, it would seem that the coaches have to know this. (They are very experienced)

District 39. Combined 12-64 record. Wow.

Augusta votes draw & claims it is fair bc they are a small school. Being soft on them in regular season is NOT going to prepare them for the draw they had for this district tournament. There is a good chance Augusta will go to Region. Are they gonna be upset to be beat by this much in Region play? I thought that it is the mentality of taking a draw that "to be the best, you gotta beat the best"

relating a schools stand on draw vs seed has nothing to do with this IMO.

They'll lose to St. Patrick in first round, which will get destroyed by Bracken/Mason then get destroyed by Campbell/Harrison/Bourbon. There are other schools around the state who have chosen to not play in postseason baseball and softball. Augusta and St. Patrick should have followed their lead as well.

Why not? Why should a team take it easy on another team? Where's the life lesson in that? It Seems like PC did the most they could with it ending in 3 innings. And is there going to be a thread to talk about how unfair it is for Auguata to be beat by the run rule in Region?

 

Feels like to me that Augusta wants the best of both worlds. Get into a region by draw but have regular season opponents take it easy on them bc they are the less qualified team.

As far as people I have heard say "Well they'll get to have a meal at McDonald's". Sounds like a glorified participation trophy to me. If they want McDonald's so badly, St. Patrick has a short drive up the hill while Augusta can be there in 20 minutes.

Being soft on a team is winning 8-0. Beating a team 35-0 is an embarrassment to the game of softball. And you can dislike this post too.

I don't need to be at the game to know that 35-0 is a joke. I watch softball all the time. Normal teams (ones that have sportsmanship), simply lead off the base early to create outs once a game is out of hand. There's nothing to prove when you're up 10+ runs against an inferior team.

It's already been explained ad nauseam why running it up is extremely poor sportsmanship and just classless ( unless there is a underlying reason) . No need to go back thru it . Just go back a page or two . Geez .
