September 18, 20169 yr If Rod Carew would have gotten 2 more base hits in 1976 he would have won 7 consecutive AL batting titles. Most folks around here have no idea about how good of a hitter Carew actually was. The dude could really get on base. He could also steal bases early in his career. Major problem for him, he played with the Twins for many years when they were terrible. The stat you posted is almost impossible, certainly a daunting stat. You guys can take Pete, Gywnn, I'll take Rod every day. BTW, he could run and stole a lot of bases too. One of the better base runners ever. But, he played with the Twins and they were awful.

Carew was amazing. I loved how he moved around in the batter's box depending on who was pitching. Very few hitters do that...
