The Bulldogs went 15-0, beat Trinity and Manual twice, beat St. Xavier, and crushed Lafayette in the 6A State Championship Game.

 

Agree or Disagree with the A+? What grade would you give the Bulldogs? Why?

I agree with the A+. Not many teams will be able to lay claim to the fact that they beat Trinity twice in one year and won a state championship as well as an undefeated season. If that isn't worthy of an A+ then I don't know what is.

 

Add in the fact that they play some of their season without Keion Wakefield and it makes their accomplishments even more impressive.

I haven't looked at all the teams available for review this week but Male definitely deserves an A+ for dominating at the highest level.

I still think that their regular schedule outside of Trinity and their district was weak, but they did everything they needed to and overcame every obstacle in their path.

I have to agree with an A+.

 

The regular season schedule included Floyd Central (IN), Fairdale, Seneca, J-Town. These were not very competitive games but neither was the first Trinity matchup. One crazy stat from the season was a combined score of 678-93.

A+. Final top 20 national ranking in USA Today reinforces the grade. Exceptional Ky high school team. Coach Wolfe might be best in Ky in preparing his players on both sides of the ball.

I have to agree with this. You will be hard pressed to find a more prepared team.

 

On offense the Bulldogs just do what they do. He will throw 20+ bubble screens and win or run inside zone. If you creep up he goes deep.

 

Defensively, they were dominant. Also, I heard rumblings in the stands because certain impact starters were on kickoff team. Then said impact player makes a tackle keeping the opposing team short of the 20 and everybody agrees Wolfe knows what he's doing.

 

I hope Male's administration in particular and JCPS in general don't do something to mess up what's happening on Preston. Finally, Louisville kids have a public option to be successful in football. Freshman teams have been undefeated for two seasons in a row. Even though the team lost a lot of Varsity experience, they are NOT short on talent.

Hard to argue against they did everything you wanted from them. Had a little bit of Senioritis against St. X and the rematch with Trinity, maybe didn't stay up cramming like they should, but still passed with an A.

 

The only possible knock is they didn't challenge themselves with extra credit. Had they taken on some of the surrounding state's best teams it would be a no doubt A+, still yet it was clear they were the Valedictorian.
