May 3, 201610 yr Author Preaching to the choir on free trade. I just understand the mindset when you see jobs eliminated around you. They don't care if it's cheaper for the company if their peers are losing jobs. The big picture obviously free trade is best. Free Trade is best for industry because it allows corporations to manufacture abroad in 3rd world countries where labor is cheap and environmental, health and safety regulation is absent. However, Free Trade is not in the interests of the country because these are no longer "American" companies, but international conglomerates that have NO LOYALTY to nation state. An American Government has an obligation to keep American Jobs in this country. An American Government also has an obligation to promote a positive business environment by limiting the reach of regulatory influence. Supporting the people abandoned to free trade is a tremendous drain on society. Rural and Urban areas desperately need those jobs back and that desperation is reflected in the enthusiasm for BOTH the TRUMP and SANDERS campaigns.

I hope he doesn't. :lol2: He will, for the sake of the party if nothing else. He shouldn't because of the way the Clinton's treated him, but if he never makes her Secretary of State she is probably not in this position either. But I always thought that was a behind the scenes deal that he was forced to take.

What you discuss is more about the regulation side and making the American economy more attractive on the world scale. Now could laws be reworked to make sure countries are playing on a more even playing field , possibly. But free trade itself is a must , when live in a global economy. Free trade is best for the American consumer and yes for corporations . But free trade did lead to jobs leaving but the American regulation did itself no favors either. But to look at free trade in a close minded view isn't understanding the global economy.

I think she doesn't need him to win, but she wins handily with him. He needs her to solidify Obamacare and finish off the GOP that has given him so much heck these 8 years.
