I'm not buying it yet. He reminds me of a great player at the NAIA level and a good player at the low-major to high DII level.

Noone in particular - I should have said he reminds me of a player that could great at the NAIA level. I don't have anything against him or his team or anything like that - I would love to see him go to Morehead of even higher. I'm just saying what I think based on what I seen last season. I'm anxiously looking forward to seeing him play this coming season.

I heard from a VERY reliable source today that Morehead State is hot on the recruiting path of Vanhoose at Russell.

 

Vanhoose could probably play at Morehead. I dont see him having an impact anywhere bigger than MSU. But hey getting a scholarship wherever it is, is nothing to sneeze at.

He will play somewhere in the Missouri Valley Conference. He has quite a few of them hot on his case.

If I'm not mistaken, you didn't think much of Flynn as a coach either. With a recommendation like yours, Vanhoose might just end up at Duke.

What? I dont understand what point you are trying to make. Obviously Flynn knew he wasnt doing a good job at Ashland so he hit the road. Hopefully it will work out better for him and for Ashland, I wish him the best. Now lets get back on topic. :thumb:

Flynn did a better job with the talent he had than you realize, and Vanhoose is better than you will admit. Flynn got tired of knocking his butt off and getting trashed by people with unrealistic expectations. Vanhoose will give the Tomcats fits this season.

He can shoot and do some other nice things on the floor, and is probably the best all around player in the 16th. But if anyone thinks he is quick enough, can handle the ball well enough, or plays enough D to get looks from big D-1 school they are kidding themselves. Missouri Valley is a great basketball conference, I think they got 4 teams in the big show last year!:ylsuper:

Just wait and see. In the years to come you will see what a good job Flynn did in his time at Ashland. If you think he had overwhelming talent the last two years you are mistaken. He had players who played on great AAU teams with everyone from the area. Please tell me about all the talent he had the past two years.

If Ashland continues to play the schedule Flynn played the records will not be much different.

Im pretty sure that I said some nice things about Vanhoose and his abilities. Im well within my rights to say that in my own personal opinion I do not think he could contribute at a big D1 school. Im not trying to convince anyone of anything. You can agree with me or disagree, I do not care one way or the other.

What do you consider big?

I look for him to sign at a mid major or lower.

I hope the kid does well because he does something many kids these days do not do: WORKS HARD ON HIS GAME. He has a passion.
