From the article you linked:

Jones issued a statement Wednesday, alleging that a second student was battling a similar situation at the school. His statement also said private records, which go back several weeks, indicate that the student was repeatedly bullied at school.

The news release also said that the student reported the assault by the white student after former students came forward alleging patterns of discrimination, harassment, and reports of administrative cover-ups at the school in recent decades.

Atty Jones has been involved with some interesting DC matters...

Did Clinton's Backdoor Adviser Illegally Lobby for Putin Ally?

His comments may have upset the queen bee - Ms. Clinton.

But who is the in-state attorney?

Mr. Jones does have local ties after working for McClatchy between 2000 and 2003.

It would seem civil action was and is anticipated.

So does anyone know if this had anything to do with Legend Brumbaugh leaving LexCath?

Its being mentioned other places but cant confirm any of it.

If it is illegal for a school to withhold a child's transcript as per state law/statute (which I was told by a very knowledgeable school administrator that it IS illegal and he had the KRS on his desk that referenced it), then it doesn't matter what language is put in the school contract. That contract can't supersede/suspend state law. So language may be in many contracts that state the school will withhold transcripts if X happens, but it's not enforceable IF it actually goes against state law.

Guess what ? You have to file an injunction to get it, that costs an attorney....

If a family doesn't want to be honorable and pay the tuition, then they shouldn't have put their kid in the school. It's a legal agreement that only can be unwound in a legal action....

I fully understand what the KRS is on this one...I also fully understand the need to finance the institution...

Linking release of transcripts to full payment of tuition is educational elitism at its worst, given the seriousness of what happened. The school -- if it was smart -- would have expedited the transfer process, then attempted to quietly work out a payment plan involving tuition owed. I'm always amazed how some people or institutions only think in legal terms.

Put sports and tuition on the back burner. The larger problem for the school is justifying its actions when it purports to be a "better choice" than public schools for developing the character of young people.

It is a private institution so.....

Let's be clear, the non payment of tuition has nothing to do with the other allegations...nothing...

Apparently still going on. NAACP wants investigation into recruiting.

This is why I send my kids to a public school.

Yeah, because this type of thing NEVER happens in public schools...

True, public schools dont offer financial aid packages to athletes.

As I said in the "who would I want to rescue me" thread, my guy doesn't discount any theory/belief out there.
