BGP, love your polls almost as much as I love Coach Cal. He missed one on Skal. BGP missed one in the blatant omission of Creech. Both have enough cred to be entitled to an occassional miss.

 

Agree missing on Creech but not sure Cal missed on Skal, he is going to be a first rounder and his potential is very hi. People need to remember he is only a freshman and although we have been spoiled by how good the freshman have been at UK, Skal needed another year or 2 at UK but its not happening and don't blame him he is going to get first round money.

So is that how we rate girls basketball by what colleges want them or what college they are going to. Some pick schools that fit them, look at Sidney Moss goes from Florida to Thomas More for whatever reason, yes I know you thinking what I thinking but none the less. How Creech doesn't make the top 10 is beyond me and although I agree with the competition piece, but I look at it like this so if she played on a better team against better competition instead of 50 a game she averages 25-30.

 

It's not the only way to measure a player's year. However, the initial shock, including from me, now is lessened. I'm a firm believer that stats are not a great measure of a player. I also believe that the quality of play in EKY is below average OVERALL. There are some great players , including Creech, but overall it's below average and sometimes shockingly below average.

 

That hurts Creech. What offsets that is that a D1 college says they think she can play at their school. I have no doubt she can play. I just don't look at 50+ PPG as being automatically better than what the other girls have done against better talent.

 

Not an easy call for the crew that made this team.

A list without Creech is not an accurate list. No two ways about it. There are a girl or two id also add but it is what it is. Creech getting snubbed is absurd. Although its not supposed to be what you are projected to do at the next level she also is commited to WKU. So not only has she scored the most points ever in the state, she also is headed to a D-1 school and was miss basketball runner up, but still cant make a top 10 list? Blasphemy!!

Not fair for me to say. Ive not seen all the girls on this list play. But if anyone is buying that Creech is not a top 5 player in the state with her creds I have some ocean front property in Bracken County I'll sell ya as well. :thumb:

No no no. You can't say someone has to be ON the team without saying who you would replace.

 

We know all of the girls mentioned, including Miss Creech, are very talented so you won't be saying someone isn't good if you say Creech is better.

 

Complaining about the list is simply whining if you don't stand up and say what you believe.

I agree with this one. Robinson is an outstanding player, but what Creech did for her team this season and taking them to the Region Finals does more for me.

I don't know maybe her production this season 60 and 14 per night. Maybe she passed the all time scoring record this season. I really don't think there should be any more reasoning than that.

I've already clearly stated that I have not seen ANY girl on this list and that my initial reaction was shock.

 

However, I then looked up the stats and talent level of each girl. I can see that every girl who made it is really good and how it's POSSIBLE they deserved it more than Creech. So I'm not smart enough to say who SHOULD or SHOULD NOT be on the team. I'll trust the folks who made this list and know a heckuva lot more than me about girls talent.

 

However, your (and others) continued argument that her stats should put her on the team or that she led her team to the region final( in a weak region) just doesn't offer us enough when it comes to comparisons.

 

I can see why she is looked at with a jaundiced eye though. The schedule she played is weak. The talent level of players she went against is below average. That matters when comparing her to other girls who are obviously very talented and playing tougher competition.

 

She obviously got dinged for that.
