April 4, 201610 yr Don't understand the hate she receives. I don't think it's "hate" per se...she seems to be a good girl, smart with a good head on her shoulders. She just CAN'T sing and her songs are all the same bubble gum 50's "I lost my love" fluff. Maybe a good role model for young girls, as long as they don't try to sing like her.

And when compared to a song bird, like Martine Mcbride, TS just sounds gosh awful. I thought it was pretty funny. She was not a great live singer when she was young but her voice has matured and now has a nice voice. This may be true now, I don't know I haven't listed to anything recently. My gf watches most of the live country music award stuff, and I guess as recently as last year TS did a live performance at one of the events and just sounded horrible. Even the gf, who likes country music, thinks the same.

Might not be your cup of tea, but it's there. To completely dismiss that is just not logical. I liken it to my feelings towards the Beatles. I don't like their music, but I recognize they are very talented. They're way too successful not to be. Just not my thing.

As Clyde alluded to he says her voice has changed and she is better now. That might be the case but I haven't heard her do anything live recently, so I don't know. I don't like country music or modern pop (if that's what she does now) whatsoever but think Martina McBride is one of the best female singers on the planet and just love her voice. So yes I can recognize the talent when it's there regardless if I like the style or not. As far as the video Guru posted...it's cute.
