Obamacare projections miss by 24 million people

I've been on Knyect. They require a validated SSN. I had way more insurance options than with any employer sponsored plan, and , at a more modest cost driven a much larger pool of insured. You have consumed the conservative kool aide on this one.

"impose rules, regulations, fees, taxes, surcharges, "

I never experienced this.

Kynect may have been the best of the state exchanges. I do not really support the rapid shutdown. It seems a simple cut and run and transfers control of many Kentuckians health services to the Federal government.

Overall ACA mathematically never really worked. And where it has been altered so far has been done illegally.

Maybe the next administration will continue to make changes without Congress. There is no will at the national level to get anything done - that is for sure.

Did you get a stipend from the government towards the cost of your insurance?

My premiums have gone up drastically as well as my deductibles. So now I get less coverage at a higher price.

Commercial health insurance was trending that way long before ACA was implemented, or even conceived. There is a cause/effect relationship here that is assumed. My health insurance costs past my mortgage costs long ago.

Kynect is still a flawed program, but its better than the status quo. There was a small stipend of about 10%. Is that really any different than a tax credit which the conservative alternative proposes?

The 'government' does not fund anything. The source of the check and money behind the check are not one in the same.

ACA does not fix and never fixed anything dealing with healthcare. It allowed the government to impose rules, regulations, fees, taxes, surcharges, etc. to then hand out no-charge services to people. It actually cut Medicare funding. The new pool is used to fund a new demographic - the undocumented, illegal alien population. Insurance companies are now finding this to be the case and its killing them.

The only real thing ACA is assuring is a large-scale train wreck at this point.

The money spend could have been just given to (legal citizen) poor of this country twoice over and less money would have been required and everyone would be 'covered'.

In my best whiney voice: :"But...but... but....we had to do something."

Premiums were trending upward but the coverage was still the same.

You ignore the fact that deductibles have gone through the roof under the ACA.

I receive ZERO stipend for my health insurance.

Deductibles have risen, but more importantly, the out of pocket maximums are now absurd.

What we will see next is that our providers of healthcare will have massive uncollectible accounts receivable.

Obamacare is imploding. Too few carrying too many. It is unsustainable. It was designed to be.

Amen.

We all need to remember what Gruber said.

The CBO lowered their projection of insurance coverage growth and this writer concludes that it means people lost health care. I thought liberals were supposed to be the potheads.

[Takes a long toke] "They changed the estimate...it's almost, like, hypothetically, people lost coverage, man. Think about it."

We had purchased a small group plan thru our business, had been like that since late 90's. We were very pleased with the coverage, but it was pricey, but paid well on claims. Well fast forward to the Obamacare Plan. I guess we had a Cadillac Plan so we lost our coverage. I'm one of those people Harry Reid called liars, and I did not appreciate it. Got a new plan under Obamacare law thru Anthem, cost more and paid less on claims. Now have Medicare with the best supplement offered, best Rx Plan thru Mutual of Omaha. All claims paid completely, no balance left for us to pay.
