That's not the record

The newspaper has them at 10-14 and KHSAA has them 11-10.

KHSAA is correct. 2 losses to Moeller, cincy St X, 2-1 loss Strongville who beat Moeller and 3-2 loss to Centerville who beat Moeller twice. Lex Cath, Cov Cath and PRP who is ususally pretty strong are all quality opponents.

It's all about competing against good competition, and being ready when the tourney starts.

Highlands' regular season record right now is irrelevant. Lets remember that in 2014 a team made a run to the state finals after posting a 17-16 record in the regular season.

Wont even make a run in region

Don't forget SK beat them yesterday. :D

I said earlier in this thread that Baioni has a knack for getting his kids to gel and peak at the right time. At this point last year his team went on a tear. Other than a couple games against Cov Cath the pretty much ran the table. I'm just not sure they have the offense, based on what I've seen, this year to pull it off.

offense has not been the problem for this team, they average around 9 hits a game which should surely be enough to win more games than they have. Defense has really been the problem for this team, far too many errors and averaging 4 walks/hit batters per game

Yikes. They must not be listening, b/c I can guarantee you JB is preaching defense and pitching. With the pitching he is certainly preaching 1st pitch strikes, 1st batter outs each inning (no crooked #s ), pitch to contact and no free passes.

Becomes like a virus -- P is afraid defense won't catch the ball so he tries to be too fine and strike everyone out. This leads to BB which puts more pressure on the defense.

I'm sure JB will have them going the right direction for District & Region. With good arms, you always have a chance.

"Nuff" said, end of story, good night Irene.............if this is true they obviously aren't good enough ! lol

Returning pitchers or not they lost some pretty darn good Sr's last year.

I saw on the PBR twitter feed last week that Ramey is transferring from Georgetown. Any idea where he is looking?

I have heard that the defense has had some issues as well. Not exactly sure what positions to be quite honest. This team will him most nights, but you cannot afford to give away runs. Kid they groomed to play shortstop quit playing last year and I think he would make a big difference in the field and at the plate.

I saw that too... PBR said he's going to be at their "unsigned senior" event at Cumberland College.

So, I can only assume he's looking for an opportunity wherever there is interest.

Sounds like that might be a pretty good event to get exposure.
